no idea whether it's on the same level as the absolutely sublime "music has the right to children"...

Music Has The Right To Children > Geogaddi

It's still a great album, though. I adore '1969' and 'Julie And Candy'...

I've got some Sigur Ros on, to match my floaty mood. Mmmm, 'Agaetis Byrjun'...
Debaser
ah well...it's hard to match something of that brilliance...

right now...desaparecidos - read music/speak spanish. conor oberst's (bright eyes) rockier side project. niiiiice.

*~*##I, Julia, hereby proclaim my love for both InKy and Debs for their appreciation of the group Boards of Canada. Long life and much affection to the both of yas!!!##*~*

(listening to ummm....I don't know the name of the group or the song! Lol it's on a CD that Aries put together for me...I think it might be Teenage Fanclub's Brand New Colony but I don't know if that's right or not)
Industrial Kybosh
Hee hee! happy.gif

Always nice to meet another rabid BoC fan...

Moved from Sigur Ros to Mogwai's 'Young Team', followed by Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP'. Really, I should be getting into quieter stuff at this time of night. Oh well...
Jaq
I'm at school and have no access to music..but I wish I was listening to the Animatrix soundtrack

That counts, right? Things you wish you were listening to?
Jaq

WHAT? Someone else knows the band formerly known as Squid?

I commend you, good sir. They rock, and jaSon is a top bloke. He posts on a message board I used to post on, and I got to know him pretty well.

I am listening to GGFH, a rather warped industrial band who write songs about serial killers. They are very good.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Tupelo. This roxxors.

Yes. Yes it does.

Furthermore, kudos to Jaq for giving it some Mew action.

Right now, I have on 'Desert Sessions Vol. 9 & 10'. So good and demented you can almost taste the drugs. Essential for all QOTSA fans.

Plus, 'Shepherds Pie' is one of the silliest tunes I've heard in a long time...

STILL got Desert Sessions on.

It's a tremendous album. There's a couple of tunes comparable in style and quality to QOTSA's 'No One Knows', and tracks like 'There Will Never Be A Better Time' and 'Crawl Home' represent some of the best PJ Harvey material in a good while.

It's just really bloody good all round, really.

"Milkman" by Aphex Twin....off of (big surprise) a burnt CD. I almost never listen to "real" cd's anymore...I just make numerous burnt cd's and listen to those.

Found something today that almost made me soil myself with delight...

Hamell On Trial - "Ed's Not Dead - Hamell Comes Alive!"

Pure genius, it is. Taken from when the wondrous Mr. Ed Hamell (sole member of the aforementioned) and his acoustic guitar supported Ani DiFranco. Her techs gave Ed a recording of his set as a gift, joking that if he was ever killed in a car crash, he could release it as an album.

A while later, he was run off the road by a white van, seriously damaging his spine. During the four months it took him to learn how to walk again, he released the set.

And it's f@cking amazing...

Like a cross between Bob Dylan, Black Francis and standup comedian Bill Hicks - a raging, rollocking riot of an album from start to finish. And one I never expected to find.

So I've been listening to that. Also SFA ('Phantom Power' - I got it back! Yay!), Desert Sessions, The Wildhearts ('p.h.u.q.') and The Darkness.

Go team me.

Does your av have anything to do with the arsekickingly cool goth magic show that was on last night? The guy was eating loads of razors and coughing up blood then started to floss his teeth and pulled the floss out with all the razors tied to it.

I recommend a trip to the Warp Records website to view some of the other vids directed by promo auteur Chris Cunningham.

He did "Come To Daddy" and "Windowlicker", Portishead's "Only You", Madonna's "Frozen", and my all-time favourite, "Come On My Selector" by Squarepusher - pure video genius.

Today I listened to The Darkness and The Prodigy. Forgot how much I loved "Poison" and "No Good (Start The Dance)".
