LMAO-nice answers, but that's not what I meant. I mean real Irish as in he's sitting in Ireland right now or fake Irish as in he's sitting in America right now. Oh yeah, welcome back gerbil. I missed you, even though no one else did biggrin.gif

I missed you because you keep things fun and mean and I don't know you well nor do I care to, all I'm saying is, you keep things alive. Plus, it's hard to smite by yourself, (pats smitemaster)

I've had my usual Pink Floyd on, along with my current Mad Capsule Markets, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and PJ Harvey faves.

Also, I have had some lovely pub jukebox selections, including two that I have officially dedicated to forumites:

'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker' by The Ramones (for my adopted forum sister crazi) and 'Money' by Pink Floyd (for Jaq, who happened to mention liking that tune whilst I was in chat).

I thought of you both during those tunes, so special are you to me wink.gif

As this has been so kindly resurected by my man-whore Inky I shall bore you with what I am listening to at the moment.

I just got a couple of new Cds all on the Grand Central record label.

Fingathing - Superhero Music
Various Artists - Central Heating volume 2
Riaton - Beats du Jour

Yeah, I'm into lounge music tinged with a hip-hop stylee, I like to think of it as possibly the least offensive form of music ever.
Lord of darness
I like to lissen to songs on my comp.

so I don't have a real cd but I have like 100 songs or more on a playlist

I'm lissning to offspring (get a job)

YAY!

It finally arrived! Praise the Lord, it finally arrived!!!

What?, you ask... and I slap you for not paying attention earlier.

My bloody Mew album, that's what! YAAAAAAAY!!! It's called 'Frengers', with the explanatory subtitle 'Not Quite Friends But Not Quite Strangers'.

And it's most gorgeously signed by lead singer Jonas Bjerre, who's drawn the cute little falling angel logo that they use on their stuff. Me so happy!

It's a bloody good album, too. Vocally, a mix of a little bit of Pet Shop Boys and Flaming Lips, and musically unlike anything else - a bit of Flaming Lips again, and perhaps a bit of Sigur Ros, but also something... else...

I'm listening to it right now, and I'm chuffed to bits.

*whispers back*

Word. wink.gif

Is 'Tri Repetae' still the Autechre album to start with, though? Or is the new one a good jumping-off point?

Birthday coming soon. That = money = albums = yay!

Hmm. Tri Repetae as good a starting point as any. To be honest, I've not had a chance to listen to the new one (draft7.30) properly yet, but the few spins I've given it have been brilliant. Proper ass-shaking stuff. Basslines and everything. Can't go wrong with Tri Repetae. Also, if you get the special version of it, Tri Repetae ++, you get a bonus disc with 2 or 3 of their earlier singles compiled onto it.

Bad-a-bing, bad-a-boom.

Hippy bathday, you old git.

In a month's time, it'll be off to WarpMart with me, then... smile.gif

Unless the new Wildhearts album comes out then.

Jaq
I don't know why, but today and yesterday I've been listening obsessively to "The Captain" supposedly it's a country song, but country never sounded this good. Or angsty. Gots to love the angst. wink.gif

The Flaming Lips album I know best is 'The Soft Bulletin', so that should give to an answer... wink.gif

'Yoshimi...' is also a very good album, but I've only heard it a coupla times - my GF owns it (present from me - I rock!).

But yeah, 'Frengers' by Mew... bloody good album, kids! Buy it buy it buy it!

As well as that, today I listened to 'Relationship Of Command' by At The Drive-In. Great album...

Hmm...I have listened to Every Breath you take, on radio 2 (yes it's sad, but it's what wakes me up in the morning), The Cure (Disintegreation), Smasing Pumpkins (Adore), some weird Spanish dance music in work, some weird jungle music in work, some NIN-influenced very cool music in work, and His Infernal Majesty...biggrin.gif

Ugh... I hear ya... bloody kids...

I had some lovely Radio 3 on earlier, and caught half of a Captain Beefheart set that Jonman assures me was taken from All Tomorrows Parties.

Very good set - Magic Band, but no Captain. Excellent rendition of 'Well', for them as knows it.

I've been listening to Mew and 'Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness' by The Smashing Pumpkins whilst trying to think of dedications for Jaq and Sarah (not a film starring Richard E Grant...) - success was had.

Also listened to Mad Capsule Markets, and a bit of 'Braindance Coincidence'...
