Naaah. He put that damn song on the copy of the album he did for me. Hilarious stuffs.
Personally, it's been Bright Eyes all day. 'Lifted...', to be precise. Marvellous album, full of beautifully layered musical flourishes and heart-breaking vocals. Perfect for a day when you could happily crawl up your own arse and die.

Along with Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed, there's been Blue Oyster Cult - Tyranny and Mutation, Cake - Fashion Nugget, Simon and Garfunkel - Best of, a few snippets of AFI - Sing the Sorrow, and I think that's all. Oh, some of Nirvana - In Utero.

I was forced to go outside today. Rather than go with the family to the park, I opted to walk the neighborhood with my dog. Why is this relevant? Because I was experimental enough to play the rest of my recently borrowed Baroque classical cd, instead of just replaying pachelbel's kanon in d. Some vivaldi was added to the mix as well as others. Rather pleasant really.

They can get a bit Stones-y can the Scream, bless 'em. It's that blues-tinged rock 'n' roll thing - always going to draw comparisons to Mick's motley crew.
Personally, I enjoy their more experimental electronic works, such as 'Vanishing Point' or 'Xtrmntr'. If you fancy checking more, though, the best of ('Dirty Hits') is a worthy primer. All the classics...
Meself, it's been a Boards Of Canada day ('Music Has The Right...'), followed by two new purchases - an EP collection from Refused (thanks again, Dayan) and a greatest hits compilation from one of my guilty loves, satanic metallists Deicide.
An interesting combo, I'm sure you'll agree...

Yes, I'm clinging to the Cult...don't want to be depressed, thing is, major sh*t overhaul in my life and I want to be happy again, but it's not happening yet. So, I'm clinging to the Cult with the Secret Treaties album, and I might take my Simon and Garfunkel Best Of (the 20-track one) for a spin. I want music that complements my mood without getting me more depressed. There's been a lot of "Subhuman" listening off of Secret Treaties, and strangely enough, "ME 262" is helping.

The Fall- Classical
Gawd bless yew!
I've taken to being a massive Fall fanboy of late. Just love Mark E Smith's voice. My collection is pitiful - a mere three albums - but I'm still just a beginner. 'Bend Sinister' is pure album greatness, as is 'Country On The Click'...
Need... more...
Today, I've been jamming some interesting remix stuff down my earhole with a view to writing a article/review piece (should be in your region in the next few days, Juice) - Calexico's 'Black Heart' EP and SFA's 'Phantom Phorce' featuring heavily.
Interesting stuff, say I... Must listen more tomorrow...
Otherwise, it's been Deicide, Venetian Snares, and the hilariously foul Goldie Lookin' Chain single, 'Half Man Half Machine'. The last one had everyone in fits of giggles both before and after we opened the shop. Result.

Aaah, so good to be back in what is becoming the only thread I ever post in...
Simple instructions for tha kids this week - buy the new Beta Band album, or I'll cut off your feet.
Anyone who doesn't like this album doesn't deserve ears. It's been sat in my Discman since I acquired it from work, and each listen brings new wonders.
Other tuneage has included The Wildhearts (F@CKING LIVE, BABY!), a new Pixies best of (as good as you'd expect) and an EP from 50 Foot Wave (jury's out after one listen, but the mood is fairly positive...)
I love my job sometimes. Music music music. Music!
