Oops. Oh well. I was too messed up anyway.
Still listening to that album, and burned a copy for a friend. But I might indulge in something else later on. I spent some quality time listening to the air conditioner.

I used to fall asleep to Machine Head and wake up to Aphex Twin.
Wheeee.
Tried to eject some arsewit lingering customers yesterday by playing Venetian Snares on the in-store hifi at stupid volumes. Only managed to make my co-workers think I'm a lunatic. Still, that's a small result in itself.
Other than that, been listening to The Fall a lot - 'Country On The Click' and the new best of, '50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong'. Bloody chuffing triftacular.

I just recall nodding off to Hail To The Thief once and waking up to Thom singing "I will eat you alive. I will eat you alive". I got a little creeped out.

OK, that's the first time I laughed all day

I really needed that.
Much less scarily, I fell asleep with "Art of Drowning" by AFI on, and woke up to "ONE. BIG. DARK. ROOM." I scrambled for my remote.

Sponge were great (are great? I don't know if they split or not...), but no bugger I know has heard of them. I went through a massive phase of listening to them non-stop.
Today has been a dose of variety, taking in Deicide, Scheer (collected B-sides - lush! and rare!), The Fall (again), and a belated return visit to 'Haha Sound' by Broadcast, an album I've never given enough time. Like a more sinister Stereolab - pretty damn good. Especially 'Pendulum', for those who like to download new and interesting things (hint hint...).

I took a trip to downtown (the small city I live in, not the big one I leave near) to a Barnes & Noble. I had a lot of library books already, so while my friend went to the book section, I went to the CD section.
After a while, my friend came back while I was in "G" and wanted me to buy her a book and she said she would pay me back and to show my obvious disdain, I slid to my right. As she persisted, I slid further and further over, until out of the corner of my eye...
"The PIXIES!" I almost shouted. This was because despite many efforts, this was the first time I had seen the artist in a CD store. "What about them?" my friend said, "I've never even heard of them." The first CD she picked up she announced she liked the cover art to. "It's a monkey with a halo." I hastily flipped it over, muttering "The store will have every CD but the one with the song on it I want," but as you've already figured out, it was on there. So tonight I am a happy camper. I've only listened to the first song so far... but I need no time to warm up to it, I like it already.

Great album, great song.

I've been on a voyage of rediscovery, covering QOTSA's 'Songs For The Deaf', Kyuss' '...And The Circus Leaves Town', and that good old Dillinger Escape Plan EP, 'Irony Is A Dead Scene'. I'll never grow tired of 'Pig Latin' for as long as I live.

Right now I'm not listening to anything because the sound on my computer is trying to taunt me by not working or something. I have You and Your Friend by Snake River Conspiracy going round and round in my head though and its starting to get a little annoying.
I've also been listening to a combination of Coma Lies by Lacuna Coil (I need to get more of their stuff but they seem to have about 10 eps with only 6 tracks on and shops seem to like selling them for the price of a full album

) and Sing the Sorrow by AFI in the car for most of the day.
