Not so much music in the strictest sense today.

Bill Bailey "The Ultimate Collection...Ever!" DAMN FUNNY loads of his osngs and musical medolies
Industrial Kybosh
I received a number of free promos of obscure bands the other day, and have been sticking them in my ears (via a Discman - I'm not f@cking mental) all day.

Cream of the crop thus far is Red Sparowes (their spelling, not mine), with Yann Tiersen & Shannon Wright matching the sunny sky for loveliness.

Right now, a random selection, with Ooberman just finishing and the Longpigs replacing them. Luvverly.
Fallen Element
Lots and lots of Blondie! Lots I say!

Sublime- Crazy Fool.

It reminds me of a poorly run high school talent show, so I listen with glee.

I rewatched my "Part Troll" DVD a couple of days ago, and couldn't stop myself from skipping to his acid rave remix of the BBC news theme. Superb! Not to mention his modern love song, # I texted you on a Monday, but you did not get my text, because of a network failure #

Now trying to find where I put my "Bewilderness" DVD, so I can listen to the songs on that one.

Could people write a bit more about what the music is, because most of the time I've never heard of these people so this thread becomes a meaningless list. Cheers smile.gif

Currently I've got 'Furious Angels' by Rob Dougan on my player. He's the guy who did 'Clubbed to death', aka. the music from the 'walking along the simulated pavement and seeing the lady in the red dress' scene in The Matrix that got used on every advert for the next year. I'm not too keen on his singing style, but the mix of heavy string orchestra and a rock/electronica style is really quite interesting to listen to, and they are great strings.

The Simpsons - We Do (The Stonecutter's Song)
from the album, 'Songs in the Key of Springfield'

I never fail to marvel at the genius that is perpetually evident in every episode of The Simpsons.

Whilst I type this, the track has changed via the joy of a random playlist to 'Mr Zebra (Live)' by Tori Amos (who, incidentally, I shall be seeing in concert next month).
JimiJimi
Led Zeppelin III.

Currently Friends when I started typing this sentence, but now it's moved on to Celebration Day. I think, although I might have gotten the order of the tracks wrong...

*Checks*

Yup, it's Celebration Day.

[edit] On vinyl!

I fancied something relaxing, so I've got on the first album by Enigma, the 1991 version with a few extra tracks on the end. It's very nice and chilled.

Avenue Q- A brodway play that is a funny, but rude, play on puppets. The play talks about real things in life and has songs like: Everyone's a little bit racist, and The Internet Is For Porn. Wierd but funny =)

Greenday-Wake Me Up When September Ends

I think that's the name of it. It has a very nice gentle guitar in the background. It's now being played lots on TV because it's just been released. I'm not sure though because I'm not big on Greenday. Just, the song is so... happysad? I'm not sure how to put it.

Tori Amos - I'm Not In Love

A cover version of the rather good 10cc song. This version is from Tori's 'Strange Little Girl' album, which is just an album of covers - something I'm not overly keen on from an artist generally anyway. This song is only playing due to the power of a random playlist. A couple of the tracks on the album are pretty good, but in all honesty the CD doesn't spend much time spinning around. Having said that, I like her version of the title track.

Interested in this CD? Search for it via Mata's associates program from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com

Vivaldi-Four Seasons, spring, 3rd movement

It's a rather awful version, all synthesized! And it's not exactly my prime choice of classical music. I just have to do it for music homework...
