Coldplay - Yellow

A dose of Coldplay, whilst I wait for the new album 'X & Y' to be released next month.

Ever more Coheed and Cambria

For those who don't know, all Co&Ca music is based around a huge sci-fi storyline, with Coheed and Cambria being the two protagonists of the first album (The Second Stage Turbine Blade). The best version of this story can be read here.

As for the music itself... I've heard it described as Prog-emo. Make of that what you will. A lot of places draw similarities between Coheed and Prog-rockers Rush.

Well I have been listening to my Elvis cds a lot lately, some dabing of Green Day and Slipknot, But right now some remixed Invader ZIM songs a friend sent me on my computer.
Museum Girl
Faure's Requiem and the Levellors "Hello Pig" album.
Righteous
The Smashing Pumpkins, Rotten Apples
Chronotub
Kraftwerk - Pocket Calculator
arguably one of the best electronic songs ever, lyrics are slightly cheesy but very catchy
artist.unknown
The Spamalot soundtrack.
...it cracks me up although unfortunately the songs are so irritatingly catchy that the only way to get them out of my head will have to be to stick a cork screw in either ear.

NIN - Everyday Is Exactly The Same

Moby - At Least We Tried

I bought a Moby album (18) for about £2 on eBay the other day, as an experiment to see whether I liked it or not. It's... okay. It is definitely 'background music', and I'm sure there's plenty of deep meaning to the music but, at the moment, I'm not particularly interested in that. I want something catchy! biggrin.gif

Having just spent the past three hours in a small enclosed room with loud machines and Lite FM (switchfoot-avril-kelly clarkson) I now have Marilyn Manson and SOAD on the highest volume possible. I don't even like Manson that much, but I just can't take Lite FM for that long a period of time.

ATM it is Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams (or at least I think that's what it's called) which is pleasingly creepy.

If it counts as anything, I sung the doom song and the banana phone song for about an hour until my friend shoved a pillow in my face and yelled that I was a complete imbecile and was the most annoying person he ever met. So I sat on his back and screamed/sung the Fooly cooly theme for 15 minutes. And now I'm listening to The same Elvis song over and over again on a count my radio is messed up.*smacks radio*

ABBA - So Long

Look, I cannot control the random playlist of my whole CD (as mp3) collection. I might have been able to control what CDs I've bought, admittedly. I suppose we all have our demons: I've got The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) on my CD shelving...

IT WAS A NOVELTY CHRISTMAS GIFT

followed by...

Keane - Everybody's Changing
elphaba2
"She Will Only Bring You Happiness", McLusky. Quite possibly one of my favorite songs ever. Everyone with a fondness for irreverent lyrics and guitars ought to download it right now.

Solea - Where You Belong

Don't know very much about it, except I got it from Novander and it's very addicting...

Solea is made up of dudes who used to be in Texas Is The Reason, Samiam, Knapsack and Sense Field. Unfortunately, the other songs by Solea I've got aren't all that great.

Texas Is The Reason are an old emo band*, who have some awesome songs. The two I've been listening to recently are If Its Here When We Get Back Its Ours and A Jack With One Eye.

*By this I mean they're from back when people knew what emo was, and no-one was all that pissed off by it

MC Frontalot. I blame Commie!

The Gauntlet theme as MIDI. Damn, that game brings bacxk memories.

It's the ultimate feeling of warm fuzziness.

Japan - Quiet Life (12" Mix)

Although, the ID tag actually says "(12' Mix)" which I think would require some serious equipment to play.

EDIT (to avoid double posting):

And now I'm listening to

The Saint - Opening & Closing Theme

"Do do do do dooo doooo"

from The Cult Files album
(why not buy it from Amazon, via Mata's search bar below! biggrin.gif)
arachnidoc17
"Sweet Home Alabama". Sweet.

EDIT: no pun intended.

Listening to *deep breath*:
"The Son of a Disgruntled Ex-Postal Worker Reflects On His Life While Getting Stoned in the Parking Lot of a Winn-Dixie While Listening To Metallica" by Alice Donut.

The song is ok, maybe a little annoying, but the title makes me want to give it a big hug. It's just so obnoxiously long.

I just got the new Gorillaz album today. It's really good, I'm comparing it mentally to their first album, and it's alot more polished than the first one. There's an instrumental intro, alot more variety in the songs (the first one was very mellow and almost insipid in the sweetness and sameness of all the songs) This one is more "musical" and definitely a good direction for them to take. Good joarb Gorillaz!

Also I got buttons, which came along with the CD! happy.gif That automatically makes the CD just that much better.

Flowers Become Screens (Frequency Modulation Remix) off Delirium's album Odyssey: The Remix Collection...

Lately it's been a lot of Smashing Pumpkins's album Melloncolie and the Infinite Sadness and Queen's Greatest hits album... all three volumes in one pack. Yum.

Coldplay - Fix You

(from their new album, X & Y).

I'm not yet sure what I think of the new album. I like the first single (Speed of Sound) very much, but I'm not certain about the rest of the tracks. It may grow on me, much like 'Parachutes' did (whereas 'Rush of Blood to the Head' was more of an instant appreciation).

Orgy, Vapor Transmission

I declared today to be Pink Floyd Cover Day, (of which there are thousands). As yet, it looks as though the winner is the Radiohead and Sparklehorse cover of "Wish You Were Here", followed by the the utterly incomprehensible Tool version of "Comfortably Numb". At the absolute bottom is the Scissor Sisters. I normally like them, but it hurt me deep to hear "Comfortably Numb" drag-queen-itized.

To egotistically quote myself:

Today, I have been listening to the whole of the above album on random repeat. And suddenly, from out of nowhere, I'm finding myself discovering catchy songs, and recognising them, and liking all the tracks. It is growing on me fast.

"Kingdom Come" is a current favourite, as is the first single.

Trudging through my old rekkids, I'm listening to some old Meat Puppets.

Right now 'Flaming Heart' is playing.
