Harumph!

1) The Tears for Fears version is better.
2) I was singing a similar-sounding acoustic version of that song, long before Gary Jules & Friends. They stole my idea sad.gif

I like the Gary Jules version. His voice just .. does something for the song. That said, I've heard each version, oh, twice? I can't listen to it without getting insanely depressed.

Other songs you may want to avoid if easily depressed!:
1. Anything from the cure.
2. Mew - Eight Flew Over, One Was Destroyed
3. Kelis - Milkshake :P

annd at the moment..

Hot Hot Heat - Bandages
elphaba2
A dear, dear friend of mine singing "Everlong". It's been on my computer for about a half-year and I still can't stop listening to it. He's got a beautiful voice.
Fallen Element

Aye, s'good song innit? I recommend my other hits like "Toe" and "Hoe".

Right now I'm listening to Fallen - Franz Ferdinand, from their latest album You Could Have It So Much Better.

The verdict? little_bear says: Underwhelming.

I've been listening to:

The first five tracks of the first Franz Ferdinand album, a selection of Phil Collins songs, some random songs brought up from the shuffle function on my iPod, and currently Need Your Love So Bad by Fleetwood Mac.
Novander
Hobbes and LB: whats the new franz ferdinand stuff like? I'm a big fan of their first album, but I thought the new single was absolute rubbish and a terrible let down.

I'm feeling ill at the moment, so I'm listening to lovely quiet, melodic stuff, like The War by Melee.

I hate myself- Bayside
Daria
Island in the sun- Weezer
Novander
Daria: As you like Chihiro, you may be interested in checking out this band.

I bought the new Coheed and Cambria album today. As well as having an excellent if slightly pretentious title (Good Apollo, I'll Be Burning Star IV; Volume 1: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness), its also full of excellent if slightly pretentious songs.
Hobbes
Novander: I have yet to fully listen to the new album. I only just bought the first album, having not really paid any attention to Franz Ferdinand initially. So, I'm taking my time...

Currently:
Murder - Coldplay
gothictheysay
Ooh, well, I'm slightly interested. I still haven't listened enough to In Keeping Secrets of the Silent Earth, though... hmm.

Right now: The Arcade Fire - Wake Up

Going indie? Maybe...
Fallen Element
Fiona Apple - Criminal

Fal xXx
Daria
Novander- OooOOo! They're pretty good. Perhaps not my usual taste in music (even Chihiro seem to be an anomaly (sp?)) but still a talented band.

Currently listening to Eclipse- Pink Floyd

Edit- whilst having a roam on that site Novander, I randomly clicked on a band called Goldrush as they seemed interesting- and found that they are the guys who run truckfest* each year. Bizarre.

*Little music festival in the summer in Oxfordshire. I went this year and it was excellent, Highly reccomendable. www.truckfestival.org

Ladytron - Light and Magic (heavily reccomended)
Velvet
Currently listening to "Whsiper" by Evanescence.

Fallen Element
Kaiser Chiefs - Oh My God

You know how sometimes you listen to a band a few times, but don't really take anything in and then a few months later you decide to listen to said band again, but this time you're thinking that they are the best band ever and you're wondering how you didn't notice this before?

Well, that just happened to me with The Appleseed Cast. Currently listening to Fight Song and Steps and Numbers by them. They've been moved to the top of my 'Albums to buy' list.

I was like that with Radiohead - bought it on a whim - didn't like it on the first few listens. It took a week, and then the obsession started...

At the moment: Placebo - Flesh Mechanic
