We Can Run Away Now They're All Dead & Gone - Snow Patrol. I bought their album, 'Final Straw', without knowing any of their songs - it was a purchase based purely on recommendation. This is probably the first time I've listened to any of it.
followed by
Rain - Dean Freeman. I don't know if this artist ever 'made it' or not. He was on the free music site, PeopleSound, where artists can upload their own music in the hope of receiving exposure and perhaps someone, somewhere, might know the right person to offer them a record deal. Nowadays, the website is as much devoted to already-successful bands as it is to ones trying to breakthrough. You used to be able to type in a band or artist you liked, and it would suggest some of these 'amateur' guys who are similar-sounding. I can't find that anymore, and miss it. Anyway, Dean Freeman is one of the few artists that I have ever found on a website and enjoyed.
Kayleigh - Marillion. One of my most favourite songs ever, and is in my ever-expanding playlist of 'Songs with Girls Names in the title'.

It arrived in the post today. More song-y than Low Level Owl vol. 1. Not as background music-y. My descriptive powers seem to be a bit rubbish-y.

Nice purchase - I bought that a couple of months ago. It's a blinding album, in my opinion, if a little lyrically flat at times.
Currently listening to:
Pinball Wizard - The Who.

Me singing the Beatle's "Come Together". I'll be singing it with a sort-of-band pretty soon, so I'm excited. And practicing far too much.
Followed by: Hot Hot Heat's "Touch You Touch You" of their Knock Knock Knock EP. I really prefer it to any of their later stuff as it's much more layered, with more piano and guitar lines than it quite knows what to do with.
Followed by: Pixies-"Monkey Gone to Heaven". Oh, delicious classic Pixies.

Mmmm undying love....
I have a pair of their CDs, and though unfortunetely the other one isn't quite as stripped down and pretty as
Amplified Heart, you should check out "Imagining America" because it's sweet. Though not necessarily in the puppies and kittens sense.
