LoLo suggested I listen to Devo's cover of "Head Like A Hole" just to hear it's pure awfulness, so I'm doin so now...
The original version is one of the bestest songs that Trent Reznor has committed to vinyl, an I love it immensely.
This cover? Well, did anyone hear that godawful cover of the RHCP classic "Under the Bridge"? I think it was All Saints or summat... well, imagine the awfulness of hearin such a powerful song reduced to pop trash. Yeah, pretty bad, huh? Well, now imagine the stripped down, raw sound of NIN cluttered up wi a weird arrangement of synthesised sounds, more vocalists than is necessary - none of which can hit a note - an then overlaid wi some stupid sound effects. It's pretty damn close!
The phrase "feckin awful mess" dun even come close!! Please, if ya have soulseek - download it off me, burn it to CD, then burn it in yer back garden. It's the best way to deal with it!

Pretty much. Ah well, him did try hard to get the parts because he's a friend of my landlady (and he knows that she probably won't pay for his second visit anyway, she's a canny lady when it comes to money).
This afternoon I shall be mostly listening to the soundtrack from Wipeout 2097, my kettle boiling, my mouse clicking as I work on the new LGG animation and possibly the occasional sound of dripping.

A word of warning:
NEVER, in the morning, listen to the tune you listened to many times the night before, especially if you've just had a big mug of strong coffee...
'Pig Latin' by Dillinger Escape Plan has been hammering around my head for the vast majority of my day now, and I still can't shift it... grrrrrCHINGA!...
Really, really good tune tho - a worthy download for Mike Patton fans, or anyone who likes a bit of hard riffing, loud screaming rock madness.
Tomorrow, I plan to branch out - mebbe some Queen Adreena, or some Sigur Ros. Maybe even Squirrel Nut Zippers. A mellow day? Mmm... nice...
