Year Zero (what I've heard of it at least) is amazing.

Ha! No it's not! A 40 year old man is not really in the position to make angst, especially when he hasn't developed his sound for the past twenty years.

ph34r.gif Shh. It's from all that Quake.
elphaba2
I am listening to music from Ghana! It is happy and jazzy!

F**K. YES.

Finally someone else who loves that song! Year Zero has to be my Album of the Year. I absolutely love it.

It's different (the album) than all of his other stuff. I'm glad he got out of that rut: everything he did was beginning to sound the same! smile.gif
I can't wait until part 2! The ARG has run down for a while, and I'm jonesin for more. Trent + ARGs. Who knew?

Oh yeah, it's lightyears away from his other, more aggressive stuff. I think a lot of it has to do with him being largely clean of the drink and smack now.

I agree with you about part two though; I can't wait for Year One. If it's as good as Year Zero I'll be a very happy bunny indeed.
Righteous
War of Ages - self-titled
War of Ages - Pride of the Wicked
War of Ages - Fire from the Tomb

I like War of Ages. Christian metalcore FTW.
Mata
Michel Thomas - French. Yep, I'm learning French from an audio book, and it's immeasurably easier than it was when I was studying at school. Why didn't they tell us all these simple things when we were studying it, rather than filling out heads with useless rubbish about the gender of a table? For example, everything in English that ends in 'ical' e.g., political or economical, in French is the same except it ends in 'ique'. So, after an hour of listening I have a vocabulary of about 3,000 words. Fantastic!

NOW I'm listening to:

The Garden State Soundtrack

Scrubs - My Musical

Buffy - Once More with Feeling

The Garden State Sdtrk is special to me; it really helped me out when Mom spent the summer in the hosptial. She's in there again, so I'm listening to it.

Also, anything related to Zach Braff = for the win.

And I love it when my fave TV shows go musical. Now we just need one for House M.D and Psych. wink.gif
elphaba2
McLusky! They are crunchy and wittily loud.

and I am HARDCORE for liking them, I think.
I_am_the_best
Jonathan Coulton, and feeling slightly emotional for it too.
Felander
I'm listening to Shiny Toy Guns.
Izzy
Metallica. Lots and lots of Metallica. My cousin let me borrow his Metallica tab book until next Saturday and I'm trying to teach myself everysong in it. Currently on Where Ever I May Roam.
Daria
Amy Winehouse.

I want to die, right here, right now. It's as bad as Chinese Water Torture. Not only that, but this is the second time the album has been on (it's on repeat). I'm too damn polite to change it (it's my boss's i-Pod).
*Chews on hand to stop the screaming*
Felander
Can't be as bad as Kate 'mockney c**t' Nash's new album.
Industrial Kybosh
Right now? 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart', Saint Etienne.

Next? Who knows.

Me <3 my new MP3 player and its random playability.

Ah. Turned out it was 'Sing For Me' by Fiery Furnaces next. How lovely.

My take on the new NIN album is that it sounds a lot like the last one at first, but then takes off on a rather more interesting tangent. Not a bad album at all, in fact. Props to the Rez.

Buffy - Once More with Feeling

That's lurking in my collection, too. I could blame my wife, but that would be to deny my love of it. Which would be foolish, obviously.

Now I'm listening to 'Chicago' by Sufjan Stevens. My player has taken a worryingly mellow route. Hmm...

Oh no... it is. Well, worse. I'm home now and want to listen to Death By Sexy (the album from Eagles Of Death Metal) now.

If that's the case, then I've just lost all faith in modern pop music.
Daria
You had any faith in the first place?
Felander
Yes.

I am listening to Machine-f**cking-Head. \m/
Daria
I'm listening to Final Fantasy. Apparently, he is at the top of Wytu's lastFM list because I keep listening to him sneakily.
Izzy
Rise Against - Prayer Of The Refugee
Novander
AFI's Davey Havok and Jade Puget's side project Blaqk Audio. Despite having a silly name, they are pretty damn awesome. The sort of awesome that will be popular here, I think.
Daria
The Budda Cakes. And James Brown.
gothictheysay
The National - Alligator

Izzy
This Motley Crue CD I have because I was playing Guitar Hero earlier in Best Buy and failed 'Shout At The Devil' twice, so now I'm like, "Yeah, well I bet I can play it in real life"
voices_in_my_head
Lots of Mindless Self Indulgence, Some Dope and Chevelle.

My bad mood music...to the rescue! smile.gif
porcelainwarrior
Newton Faulker - Hand Built By Robots

Not usually my kinda thing but my housemate got it yesterday and I thought I'd give it a shot and ... I really like it! It's the sorta stuff I'd listen to help me get to sleep but that's cool 'cos I can't take much more Enya anyhoo tongue.gif
MisterJ
I've been listening to a lot of Dream Theater (Progressive metal if you've never heard of 'em), and if gotten into a bit of Daft Punk. Although, at the moment, I'm listening to an mp3 collection (not very good quality sad.gif ) of the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children film soundtrack, it's got some really good music!
I'm also extra into it because I got new speaks a week or two ago and my brother has let me use one of his good amplifiers (not his best one though wink.gif ).

Yay for music!
snooodlysnoosnoosnoodle
Listening to MeWithoutYou in the library at the moment. I miss the internet, a lot of that is missing last.fm >.<
elphaba2
I'm listening to Miho Hatori and her "Song for Kids", which was written to cheer up kids and is incredibly cute. In other news, I'm seeing Emperor X this friday! Woo Brooklyn!
Izzy
The BS (thebucketheadshow.com*) because it's awesome.

* A bunch of not very appropriate stuff on that site. It's all censored because it's off the radio, but yeah. I'm not responsible for anyone else looking at it.
elphaba2
Stars--The Vanishing.

It's making me sad sad.gif
-TheKasbah-
I'm listening to Going Down by the Von Bondies, but since people seem depressed today, if I was actually listening to music to suit the mood it would be Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds To Mars.

Kasbah.
dreamsx
I also like some of dream theater's stuff!
their acoustic ones are nice.
-TheKasbah-
I'm listening to Graffiti by Maximo Park, they are class, but their second CD is better then their first. biggrin.gif
elphaba2
Midnite Vultures!

Ah Beck. Disturbingly, this album goes well with data analysis...
-TheKasbah-
Beck is class. I have all his CDs on my iPod I think. biggrin.gif
Novander
Since it be International Talk Like A Pirate Day, I be looking through me music for something a little piratey. I did settle upon British Sea Power's Open Season album. It be a mighty fine album.
-TheKasbah-
British Sea Power are class, I only knew they existed by chance of buying an issue of Q a few months back.
mooooooooooopo
Pretty much anything and everything on random. Work's been pretty dull recently so I've been taking my MacBook in to listen to my entire iTunes library instead of just the small music collection I leave at work.
Industrial Kybosh
Anything you think isn't class, Kasbah? wink.gif

Mind you, I agree with your feelings on Beck and BSP. My knowledge of Maximo Park's last album begins and ends with the first single off it, but that was a wee corker.

I had a Pavement-back-catalogue-on-random night last night. Fookin' brilliant, sirs - even the weird b-side stuff that lurks on the second discs of the re-released albums. Honestly, though, if anyone here doesn't know Pavement, get yourselves sorted immediately

On a weird/genius note, has anyone got any thoughts or feelings on the last Super Furry Animals album? I like it, although it is the straightest album of their careers.
Daria
I was listening to Zero 7, Wir Sind Helden (in preparation for the gig tomorrow) and DFA 1979. But now I have BBC 6 on, and it has been pretty good to me today. Kicks radio 1's arse any day.
-TheKasbah-
Last Train Home by Lostprophets, perfect band for those little rough spots in my teenage life.
-TheKasbah-
For those slightly happier and hyper times, a bit of Pyramid by Wolfmother will do me fine. biggrin.gif
snooodlysnoosnoosnoodle
Patrick Wolf - Overture is making me dance in the library >.<

Now it's moved onto Air - The Word 'Hurricane' which is *awesome* I love the Virgin Suicide Score!
-TheKasbah-
Seize The Day by Avenged Sevenfold, or I could just put down all of their songs as I'm just letting it run through. biggrin.gif
Daria
I have mostly been listening to the Disco Shed. Which is a shed with a disco inside it. When I haven't been listening to the Disco Shed, I have been infront one of 5 stages at Truck Festival. Unfortunately most of the bands I wanted to see had to cancel due to the date-change, but it was still awesome and I still got to discover a new band: Skylarkin!
elphaba2
Freezepop's "Here Comes a Special Boy" song. I wish that song would follow me around everywhere! It is so cute!

Thanks to Mr Teapot, I know exactly what song you're talking about, and I even know who Philippe is.

Now I have it stuck in my head.

I hate you tongue.gif

smile.gif!!!!!

You should all also be listening to 'The Dude and Catastrophe'.
Daria
I feel like listening to soe DFA 1979 and RATM, but Wytu and our housemate are both asleep and I'm wondering if I should let them stay that way.
FU, have you noticed how Phillipe looks a little like your AFI bunny?
Forever Unknown
Dammit, if only Phillipe had bigger ears!
