I am bored of the idea
that your days become more clearer
after a long time gone
To the folks of Mud Spring Draw
Who keep livin where they are
the days get hard you know
On my way, I'm on my way, I'm on my way
On my way I'll be back home again

You've inspired me to listen to Deabaser. Which is weird, as Debaser never inspired me to listen to Debaser.

But then again, Debaser never said 'Pixies!Pixies!Pixies!Pixies!Pixies!Pixies!Pixies!Pixies!'
porcelainwarrior
indeed - my mother cant decide whether "gouge away" is about selfharm or drugs but she wont let me listen to it near her - i dont want her to taint me moosiks anyhoo though so i careth not

Thats my point...
Industrial Kybosh
Pixies-based world domination, eh? Sign me up...

Little known fact - my keyring features a large fob witht he word 'Debaser' written on it.

Todays choons have featured The Faint, Ladytron, Echoboy and, in anticipation of the release of 'Am I Wry? No', Mew.

TO ALL BRITS - buy 'Am I Wry? No' tomorrow, and do the charts a favour.
Debaser
i have been listening to the worst album in existence. "where is my mind? - a tribute to the pixies".

see my website (in the sig) for the longer, uncensored opinion.
Industrial Kybosh
Nothing much new on the musci front to report - apart from the fact that I got my Mew singles in the post today - SIGNED I tell you! SIGNED!!!

Excellent stuff all round.

Plus, I unexpectedly found myself listening to 'Peaches' by Presidents Of The USA and 'Loco' by Coal Chamber - two rather welcome blasts from the past.

One thing though - Daft? Daft? Media, surely... This is a perfectly serious and enlightening thread, through which I have given and received numerous quality recommendations. If anyone starts spamming this, I'll be monumentally pissed off - see earlier pages for my brief argy-bargy with prez.
MoonlightSavingsTime
Today I've been listening to my mix CD which, for one, contains a remix of Real Life's "Send Me an Angel," except I don't know who the remix is by, because every idiot on kazaa listed it with a different band name. Grrrr.......

The song lineup on my homemade CD, courtesy of Kazaa:
1) BiGod 20 - Like A Prayer
2) Nitzer Ebb - Join In the Chant
3) New Order - Blue Monday
4) Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record)
5) La Tour - People Are Still Having Sex
6) Dope - You Spin Me Right Round
7) London After Midnight - Kiss
8) Godhead - Eleanor Rigby
9) Orgy - Blue Monday
10) Ministry - Every Day Is Halloween
11) ........... - Send Me An Angel
12) London After Midnight - Let Me Break You
13) Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead

Nice 80s double-header - I like!

I've been rocking my Mew singles for a while now - one CD has some gorgeous acoustic stuff, whist the other has some bizarrely good quasi-euro-pop tunes. Buy them both if you want to be my friend wink.gif

Today's listening has a Pixies bent - much from '...At The BBC' - but will also be touched by The Beta Band ('3 EPs' - a must have album) and Boards Of Canada ('Music Has The Right To Children').

Mmm... chilling...
nordelen
i've been on a sleater kinny binge this week: today i've been listenin' to the "one beat" album, which i think is shear genious.
hinsley
im currently listening to nothing even tho i hve my head phones on because i have forgotten to turn the player on. >.< damn my stupidity. well.........

theres its on now, and its Craig david.
Rain
I've listened to exactly four songs today. The first three were all villian music from Escaflowne, and the fourth was Rainy Day by Guster.

13) Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead

Sepultura did a classic cover of this.....its on their album 'Nation'. smile.gif
Debaser
i finally got "pixies at the bbc" today...kicks so much arse it's unbelieveable...
Industrial Kybosh
It's a killer, innit? Was listening to it as my Stay Awake You Bastard section of the day.

I love the way it starts and ends with two blistering covers - 'Wild Honey Pie' and 'In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)'. Plus, I adore the versions of 'Hey', 'Dead' and 'Wave Of Mutilation' - especially the latter; so beautifully blissed out...
Mr Fuzzy
Not listened to a lot yet today, but yesterday in the car we had a rather cracking compilation called 'Darkside of the 80's' on. That was old skool with a vengeance!
Industrial Kybosh

'Darkside of the 80's'

I've heard of that... what's on it?
Mr Fuzzy
Such things as the Sisters, Cure, very old Wonder Stuff, Siouxsie, and the like. Reminds you that the music of the '80s wasn't all hideous pop crap.
Industrial Kybosh
Hmm... I'll be giving that a butchers next time I'm in HMV, then...
Mr Fuzzy
Definitely worth a crack. I just tried to find a track listing, but failed.
Debaser
saw that on tv...looked interesting...

and yeah, inky, that's cool...also like how they manage to make "there goes my gun" even shorter than it was before, and kim deal going "oh f--k" halfway through "is she weird"...hehe...

also got "complete b-sides" today. "manta ray" rocks.

and, because i'm a brainwashed minion, "am i wry? no" by mew. both cds. go me.
Industrial Kybosh
*L* go debs...

The acoustic stuff grows on you nicely, I feel - I especially like 'She Spider', but that's one of my favourite album tracks already...
Debaser
to be honest, i haven't had the time to give it my full attention as yet sad.gif having to go up oxford street to try to get my laptop charger fixed (again), then home and i have to keep a yelping, jumping dog calm while the father gets on with his counselling for an hour...then trying to help the father use the new phone...

it's been a long day...
Mr Fuzzy
Thats the sort of time you need to listen to the type of tune that I have a playlist set up for named something similar to 'Loud shiznit'

Something like that anyway...
Pikasyuu
Weebl singing. " donkey donkey have nice teef.. something something pies filled with beef "
hinsley

Wow! Thanks, Sun Tsu. I'll definitely be looking for that. A sped-up version of such a slow-and-dark-sounding song? That should be interesting. biggrin.gif
hinsley

Industrial Kybosh
Thanks to the leo-mod for the shifty-shifty!

I've got me some Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks on at the mo. Shockingly neglected album after the arrival of my Mew - I should be ashamed...
MoonlightSavingsTime
Not that I've voluntarily listened to much of anything lately, but that song "Time Keeps on Slipping into the Future" was playing in the grocery store when I went tonight ... errr, last night. *someone needs sleep to help distinguish between one day and the next* So anyway, now I have that running through my head. Damn you, grocery store!!

Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping
into the fyooootuuuurrrrre
Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping
into the fyooootuuuurrrrre

I want to fly like an eagle.... to the sea
Fly like an eagle, let my spirit carry me

Mmm... lovely lovely Beta Band 'Three EPs'... perfect listening whilst I kill time on the school library puters whilst waiting for a lift home...

Heh... Stephen Malkmus was to blame for me almost missing out on a chance to see an old school friend... Very loud he was on the old headphones - louder indeed than my old buddy's shrieking. Story ends happily - I finally caught sight of her, we chatted for about an hour, and then I went back to work whilst listening to The White Stripes.

Best lunchtime so far... happy.gif
Mr Fuzzy
I seem to have broken out the Cypress Hill. Black Sunday.
MoonlightSavingsTime
I'm listening to Bauhaus' "Bela Lugosi's Dead." Again. Over. And over. Again.
Debaser
i've been listening to "letter to memphis" by the pixies on repeat for the last 2 days running now...
nordelen

Jonman
This week, I'll mostly be listening to the lovely lovely package of CDs that popped into my letterbox yesterday.

Most espcially good are:
u-ziq: Bilious Paths
Ulrich Schnauss
and Mum

Mmmm.
Industrial Kybosh
Old school dancefloor metal today - lots of White Zombie and Fear Factory, with a hearty dose of RATM.

Then some Scheer - a band I will discuss at length at a later date...
MistressAlti
*CHINGA!*
