They're another band who do similar music to Blind Guardian (and collaborated them on one joint album, Demons and Wizards, that rocks my socks). Check 'em out.
I'm listening, to avoid accusations of spamwhoring, to Cities in Dust by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

I'm currently reconciling myself to the fact that two of the greatest bands of the 90s may well have just put out the greatest albums of their respective careers...

It's hard for me to say, but SFA's 'Phantom Power' is quite simply perfect - or as close as can be. It's hard, because my erstwhile favourite of theirs, 'Radiator', is very dear to me - I love it as if t'were my own child. But this new one... Look, just buy it, spin it two or three times, and love it as I do...

And now Radiohead! 'Hail To The Thief' marks, in my eyes (and ears) the perfect meeting point between their guitar-rock days of 'Pablo Honey', 'The Bends' and 'OK Computer' and their slightly alienating squelchy-electronica period with 'Kid A' and 'Amnesiac'. The clean, cold computer noise is tempered with a real warmth, and the whole thing is remarkably accessible. It's still Radiohead, mind, so there are still some queasy-listening moments, but by their standards it's a real toe-tapper. I defy anyone to not get their groove on a bit to the 'raindrops' refrain of 'Sit Down Stand Up'.

Isn't music great?
CommieBastard
Zeromancer - Clone Your Lover

Mmmmm with the electro-rock.
CommieBastard
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - The Weeping Song
Industrial Kybosh
I've been listening to a hot-off-the-press compilation tape that is simply fan-bloody-tastic.

I'd like to keep it, but I made it for someone else. And they deserve it for being fan-bloody-tastic themselves.

I just hope they like it...

Bah... I'm back into my Super Furry Animals/Radiohead loop. All my other albums are crying out for attention, but I can't... break... the cycle!

How dare these bands release two such perfect albums within such a small space of time? It's just not fair on everyone else!
