You know those days when you fancy taking a risk and getting something new and odd? Go for it...

I bought 'Saucy Haulage Ballads' by Half Man Half Biscuit today for a fiver - six tracks, not bad. Had no idea what it would be like, but vaguely knew the band name. Turned out to be the funniest, most enjoyable EP I've heard in ages. 'Tending The Wrong Grave For 23 Years' is worth the price alone...

Furthermore, I bought some Bright Eyes ('Lifted, Or The Story Is In The Soil, Keep Your Ear To The Ground'), and Calexico ('Hot Rail'). Great stuff...

I love CD shopping...

Otherwise, I've been on the Venetian Snares, White Stripes and Wildhearts again. Huzzah!

Heh... NOW I feel enlightened! I know of HMHB, I have their first two albums - "Back in the DHSS" and "Back again in the DHSS" an they have such nuggets as:

"I hate Nerys Hughes - from the heart"
"99% of gargoyles look like Bob Todd"
"Trumpton Riots"
"The bastard son of Dean Friedman"
"Rod Hull is alive - Why?" (Obviously this is a bit dated now...)
"F*ckin' ell, it's Fred Titmus!"
and the ubiquitous "Dickie Davies Eyes"

Both worth a listen, IMHO...

Fat boy slim - Weapon of choice

One of the best songs ever.

Also been listening to "A Break from the Norm" a CD of alot of the songs that FatBoy Slim sampled from. It's v. good. Also of course "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles. I dunno why but I can't get enough of that song.
Weary Traveler
Santana - put your lights on

I agree that waepon of choice is one of the best songs.. the video is so funny!
