It got way too quiet on the board. Must fix this.

I don't actually recall. I think it may have been combination of strong hints from my parents, educational videos in High School, instructional videos after High School (often starring Jenna Jameson...) and generally picking things up here and there.
I didn't actually get to try it out until I was nearly 20, but it seemed my technique was sound.
Mind you, If you have the requisite equipment, show a bit of enthusiasm, and don't say anything too mad halfway through, then I don't see how you can fail...

I'm not sure I think it was a combo of things, but mostly I think I learned it from books, and many classes from seventh grade on!

Whoa, you read my mind, I was going to make a similar poll.
I never ever ever want to hear a family member talk about sex. EVER. That is so disturbing an idea to me. I guess I kinda learned about it from TV, but I didn't know what it was until I started reading about it and such. My schools never did a "Sex Ed" class or assembly or anything, only crap about girls getting their time of the month and males "changing" a lot. I haven't gotten to try this yet, though. I know, *gasp*, what a shocker...

I THINK my mom kind of did... But she always had all the "important talks" with me and my older sister at the same time... so I was really young and had not a clue what was being said or going on... Other than that, we studied sex in health education in middle school and again in high school... then there was "life's education"

Umm. I learned mostly from books and from the kids at school. I'm a teenager so my mom is constantly reminding me to 'tell her when I'm ready.' uh huh. It was really funny the first time she tried to talk to me, she got a little flustered and then when I told her I knew all of it she got mad.

I thought that was funny...

sex.... well, i guess i found out from my friends who were *hates to admit it* kinda really horny 5th graders, so they kinda told me, then theres the tele, and the biological part cleared the rest (not too much left to though...) its just kinda weird, they are still teaching it in highschool, and i can kinda see why but i dont think theres a soul in that class that doesnt know about sex (and i dont doubt a few have first hand experiance)....

That's kind of weird. Everyone else here says that they got sex ed classes in high school but we started out sex ed in 4th grade and we were finished by the end of junior high.

Ah yes, Sex...
Heh, kinda funny, I was expecting the pep talk with my mother about it, but instead found out on my own through reading a lot of anatomy books during elementary school and watching "The Learning Channel" a lot growing up so I kinda got the idea...but I don't think I thought about it much until I started watching porn which was during the summer of 99, I have stopped cuz ya we do not have cable errrrr but its all good.

School taught me about sex. My little sister asked our mom about it once, and her response was, and I quote: "Sex is when a man and a woman make love."
Yeah, that's real descriptive, Ma.

Same here, except the porn magazines I saw were my cousin's or uncle's or whoever it belonged to. And my dad used to let us watch Rated R movies waaaayyyyy too early (my bro was about 4 and I was 6, or maybe even younger).
But I learned the more useful (and truthful) stuff from reading about it -- mostly from sexuality textbooks. Earlier than that, I learned at school (through reading the textbook again).

Technically since I am the only child of a single mom , who was then a teen and my teen Gay Bio-dad... (he had to prove to his 'rents that he was "normal" ) it was other adults and peers that I've met across time...long story I shall write about it sometime...
..and then there was Mrs. Saltzman... ummm....

And as for me......everything I learned I figured out myself for the most part. Lead to a lot of.......clumsy encounters.........but it was interesting nonetheless.

On the sex subject, I learned my dad had his tubes tied. Yeah, I dunno when, I never remember him sitting around with an ice pack on his crotch.
How did I find out you may ask? mom suprised us with news of DSL and it sounded like she was pregnant.
I don't talk about that stuff with my parents. I can't even watch movies with them

My mom taught sex ed in my church's 3rd grade sunday school class. I got to hear all about sex and my parents' sex lives at age 8, sitting in a classroom at church with 16 of my peers. It was just swell

although it did have the positive outcome of my being incredibly open and honest when discussing sex in almost any situation...
