right, its all natural selection and cell mutation you see.
one animal, not-quite-a-chicken-but-very-similar laid and egg that was a bit different because of cell mutation this egg grew into another thing a-bit-closer-to-a-chicken-but-not-quite-a-chicken and laid an egg. this new-improved -not-quite-a-chicken was mated with because it was better than the other similar-to-chicken-things so it managed to lay eggs, and one of these eggs had another cell mutation, and was a chicken. thus the egg came before the chicken.

just add a coupla million years to that family chain and there you have a scientifically sound explination

2 almost-chickens, having evolved to a state almost exactly like a chicken but not being purely a chicken or whatever species they came from, decide to get it on. Out pops an egg containing a genetic mutant combination of the two-almost chickens. And from that egg hatches... a chicken.

Chickens and eggs are just a big government conspiracy designed to make you consume more, eat more, pay into the agribusinesses and build up your cholesterol so that you get heart disease, make the hospitals "treat" you (because we all know heart disease is a imaginary illness and they don't actually treat you but just tell you they are) which lets them put fake bills on the government expense account so the government can actually use the money that supposedly is treating your imaginary illness for building more chicken farms to get more and more revenue.
