OK...many people have pointed this out-there's an infamous picture that was taken,of two gay male policemen holding hands-i say good for them, but if that had been a male and
female police officer, they'd have been out of the force in no time.Unfair or what? And did anyone go?
CommieBastard
Aug 3 2003, 10:33 PM
That's true. I say no special rights for anyone, and that applies to gays as well as straights. If you're going to ban relationships in the police force, enforce it for everyone, don't step around it with mealy-mouthed political correctness to the detriment of all.

Are you sure they, the hetero couple, would have been fired if they were seen holding hands?

Theres this happy little thing called equality. Too bad society at large doesn't practice it as much as they bicker about not having it.

I'm into the whole idea of we're all have the same rights, so shut up and enjoy them.

1) no hatred: This means that there is to be no sexism, racism or homophobia. You can joke as long as everyone understands you're joking but if there is breech of this rule I ban you. Simple as that.Quoted from Mata's forum rules. I'd suggest you either explain that viewpoint to where you're not breaking that rule.
craziness
Aug 4 2003, 02:01 AM
when i was at camp, there were some lesbian or bisexual counselors. 2 girl couselors would be sitting in the same bed cuddiling, practicly making out, while if a girl and a guy had been doing the same, they would be fired. my friends tested this. one of my friends had a boyfriend. he had his arm around her waist, nothing big at all. they got yelled at. 2 minutes later, the same girl and another girl started to do much more provacative things to eachother, in front of the same guy who had yelled at her and her boyfriend before, and he didnt do anything. i am definitly not against homosexual people, but that is just not fair!

Aug 4 2003, 02:36 AM
Craziness - That's the kind of blatant "reverse discrimination" that is what's wrong with homosexual rights movements, etc. Again, no one's asking for special treatment. No one's saying "we're gay we demand we can make out etc where heterosexuals cannot" No.....again....it's all about equality. If it's a situation where the people in charge need to be "on their best behavior" (like in the situation you mentioned) then it's for all. It doesn't say "Heterosexuals need to behave, homosexuals go at it because you're special"
Just my opinion.

Totally agree with Aries and Crazi, but once again I have to ask - how do you know the hetero couple would have been fired? As for Crazi's story..I'm going to go out on a limb here and call the camp guy the absolute worst type of employee any institution can have - someone who holds a personal double standard. If there were defined rules against displays of affection then it was his job to enforce them. He as an
individual is to blame for this, and not the gay community. I'm gonna go even further and guess that if the gay couple had been males, this camp supervisor wouldn't of stood for it. that pig

unfortunately shuilong,it has been proven and acted in the past that if hetrosexual couples are discovered within the workplace, they'll be fired before u can utter a word.I only hoped that we all had equal rights, and i guessed that homosexual couples would face the same punishment as a hetrosexual couple would-but
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,we had to live in England!

We have the same thing over here in America. My viewpoint is, part of the reason why homosexuals are given special priviledges is just because the employer, or whoever, fears getting sued for discrimination, so in that fear, they get away with it. And I've seen some homosexuals use that to their advantage, which is just SICK.

have to admit,i've never heard of a case where the homosexuals take advantage of the unfair treatment to hetrosexuals.

What I mean is.....Take for example a homosexual man walks into an interview all in drag, acting extremely flamboyant, that sort of thing. Employer is going to turn this person down for a job, more then likely. Gay male can sue for discrimination. Gay male intentionally dressed and acted that way for the sole purpose of trying to sue. See what I mean?

In my view, pro-homosexual discrimination is actually worse. Discrimination against homosexuals will get you shot down in flames in this age of political correctness, whereas anyone who mentions pro-homosexual discrimination ends up sounds like a homophobe.

I personally don't care. It's obvious you don't mean them in a derogatory way and they're simply the short ways of saying homosexual and heterosexual, respectively.

Apparently, "homosexual" isn't politically correct any more, since it's the name psychiatrists gave it when it was thought to be a mental disorder.

i read in the paper that some group has campaigned to be called 'sexually orientated towards the same gender' because homosexual is wrong..thats just stupid and taking it too far.
I'm all for equal rights, but i agree with what has already been said. political correctness is now turning into reverse discrimination and its stupid.

That is pretty retarded. Homosexual sounds just fine to me. Or gay. Or that infamous F word (which is what I use in RL). Who cares? We're people. You're people. We're all people. Now let's all focus more on getting laid then definitions, and we'll all be good

Blimey. I enjoy gourmet sausages from the market, and I'm rather partial to roast lamb.
My girlfriend's going to be pissed to find out that I'm gay.
Bit of a suprise to me as well, come to think of it.

that's actually really freaky-i said that just today to my boyfriend-that plus the fact that i act more male than female is utterly confusing when determining my sexuality-for a while i was bi,but in the end i found myself to be more comfortable with a guy. It's also hard to determine my gender sometimes, but i have two obvious reasons that prove i be female, and they are called "Pippy and SchNipples"
