I'm just curious as to how many people actually liked or is liking high school. I hated it so much I skipped school all the time and graduated a year early just to get out. Then I went straight to an all girl dorm. Not cool. It was like LIVING at high school. Needless to say, I left and now I'm here. LOL.

I left high school to attend a boarding school that replaces my junior and senior year with freshman and sophomore college work. I thought that it would get me away from the cruel, judgmental, annoying people I was constantly facing. Instead, it landed me here. Not only do I attend school with them, I now LIVE with them as well. Smooth move, Missy Alti.

I only started to enjoy school when I went into 6th form...before then people were too bitchy, but in 6th form everyone seemed to mature a bit and cos there were less people it was more of a close knit thing, I made a lot more friends in 6th form than I ever did in the lower forms.
I did enjoy the work part of school tho, I think that was because I got on quite well with most of my teachers. In fact, now that I'm home from uni, I'm going up to see all of them.

I agree with the both of you-I love work and learning and being challenged, I wish all the other people didn't have to be included...and like I was saying before, missy alti, I made the most awful move and went to an all girl dorm filled with freshly released high school bitches and drama queens. <jams nail through head>

When I was in school oh so many years ago, I couldn't stand it. I hated being told just how to do things when I could find shortcuts around most everything. The only class I loved was Art class, where the teacher was happy with students finding their own way to do things.
Of course, once I left school and hit "real life", it became apparent that yes, school had been easy, even with dealing with all the people too shallow to look beyond their own noses. On the upside, AFTER school, in the "real world", I found more freedom to express my personality without mockery. Acceptance, even!

I have a really freaky school set up... See, half of my district is a golf community, and the basic majority of the people on THAT "side of the river" are pretty rich and are your basic snobby teenagers. But on the other side, are what some people call "the river rats" (sounds like something out of a bad movie, dont it?) and the vast majority of the people there are still upper middle class, but a lot less judgemental and all that jazz. Theres a highschool on each side, and it all really works out, because the snobby shallow people transfer to the rich school because thats where the "beautiful people" are, rendering MY school virtually snob free.

So Im actually really fond of my school. And its really big, so its easy to avoid the people you dislike. A mi me gusta.

LOL-that does sound like a bad molly ringwold (not sure on spelling) movie
I actually quite liked high school. Junior high on the other hand was a living hell. But my high school had about 1800 people in it so you could pretty much avoid anyone who had given you a hard time in JH. There was a lot more freedom, the work was light, and there wasn't any detention (at least in the first two years). You could pretty much be somewhat anonymous if you wanted to and do whatever you liked wihtout having the feeling like the entire school was looking over your shoulder. I also made alot of friends in high school. I liked it! University is different and the work is more fun but I do miss high school a little because I can only see my friends periodically in Uni.

My highschool has 1800 people in it too.

<---- is not even IN high school yet.
<---- is still in Jr. High.
well i figured they arent that different anyways, especially not around here, coz we have all the same people except for we have 4 grades in it instead of 3. (that means we have about 300 more people)
the people in my school are all very very very fake, but the majority of them dont hate me, they just think im weird. and i dont give a damn what they think anyway. i have friends, yes, but they are all so fake. i want to finish this stupid school thing so i can meet people who are more real. most 13 year olds are not real at all.

i feel pretty much trapped so i said get me out of here!

Middle schoolers, at least the ones I went to school with, had no actual personality to call their own. They were all the same, they talked the same, dressed the same, hated me the same, threw up after meals the same...
...yeah. I really really like Highschool.
Agreed. When I went to high school exactly one person apologized to me for what she did to me in junior high. And it wasn't even a person that I had really thought that much about. In fact her apology came to me as somewhat of a surprise.
"I'm really sorry I treated you badly in junior high"
"Huh? You did what now?"
"I wasn't very nice to you and I just wanted to apologze, I feel really bad"
"Um..okay..thanks..."

Ok, rumors in middle school:
My friend Erin, who happened to mature early, allegidly had the following occur to her in 7th grade year:
Two breast implants
One pregnancy
Three abortions.
I dunno. In my mind, I find it amusing that whats serious in middle school is completely ludicris in real life. Its like its a little evil freak-world. Of Death.

everyone around me in my middle school is trying to be nice to eachother and trying not to care because they think that being a rebel would be soo awesome OMG so they all go out and smoke pot. they are stupid. they are essentially pretty much the same as eachother though. its quite boring. about 7 peole have tried to dye their hair red since i did. they all did really bad jobs. and they didnt get the same red as me because they just got boring drug store stuff.

Crazy I apologize not putting junior high in there-I actually considered it for you, but I wasn't sure if maybe you were in ninth grade or something. Maybe I should make a seperate poll for junior high, cause honestly, I HATED junior high more than high school. High school was just shallow people who bitched and gossiped and had sex with everyone, which was just annoying, but generally I was invinisble. Junior high-I swear middle schoolers have fire running through their viens. I got picked on so much, that by the time I got to high school I hated everyone, trusted no one, and didn't care if I was popular or even if I had friends. I liked being by myself much better. Children are so mean.

From your pic on the other thread I don't think you look like a 7th grader. They generally have devil horns coming out of their head and poke you with their pitch fork asking you when the last time you washed your clothes and yourself and then whispering to other devils while looking right at you. I SWEAR I JUST TOOK A SHOWER!!! STOP STARING AT ME!!!

It was a living hell.......I'm so glad I'm out of it and I will NEVER attend a high school reunion.
I hated the little clicks at school, and how everyone seemed to care what everyone else was wearing, and who did what and said what.
College is better, still not perfect but better. I think after elementary school there is a big spike in what is cool, and things only get progressively better. Elementary school is awesome you play you have fun and youre still a kid. Then you go to Junior High. God I hated Junior high more than highschool. There was the popular group and the unpopular group. The popular group's job was to torture those of the unpopular. It's also really akward there too cause everyone is becoming a "man" or a "woman" but still is a kid. Then when you get to high school its a little better. There are still popular kids and what not but those who arent do get into their new clicks.
Well I think thats it for my rant today.

Hot Topic is just for people that can't think of anything cool and original looking to wear and so they have to take themselves to a big corporation to help them define who they are. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a prep store because they are catering to people who love conformity but supposedly the punk and goth people are rebels and want to wear something original. Hot Topic just tries to make a sub culture into one more McDonalds of the fashion world. Convienient, uniform and bland. If you want to have some good goth or punk clothes go to a thrift store or garage sale, find something there and alter it to fit your needs. Bah! Hot Topic!
I don't mean to insult anyone who shops there, I just think you can do better.
