So, I downloaded 8.0 on my new computer and I can't seem to stay logged on to the board using it. It works when I use Internet explorer. I have cookies enabled. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to fix this?

I think there is probably an easy answer to this...
Don't use AOL for ANYTHING!

Sorry but I really can't think of anything more productive to suggest other than what has already been said: avoid AOL like the plague. Cookies are where your problem would lie but I don't know why AOL would throw a strop about it, you'd have to look at their 'documentation' to find out that. Good luck! (or just use IE in future.)

I have aol 8 too (oh please pity me)
i don't use it for anything other than connecting to the internet....and e-mails....but i use hotmail for that mostly, anyway, yeah IE 6 is better, i don't have your problem...i'm not sure where it gets its cookie settings from....if you have the same problem with internet explorer, if you have xp then you do have ie 6 so try using with that, if you have the same problem, try playing with the setting in the provacy tab of the internet options oogie whatssit, you can also find it in the control panel....probably summat to do with that....

Kind of strange how AOL use the whole 'making crappy products on purpose' strategy yet own Nullsoft (one of the most kickarse intarweb companies around) and used to own Mozilla... Just one reason why they're slowly going down the *edit*or...
As other people have said, go with Internet exploder, or if you can put up with the giant throbber ( :Þ ) and borked ui, you could use Opera.
I've been using mozilla firebird since 0.1 which hasn't failed me once even though it's pre-beta software.

Do I what I did. Screw AOL and get DSL. You'll be a much better person for it. *nod*
