Right, it's a bloody long and boring story but suffice to say a so-called friend has let me down. She has stabbed me in the back and treated me like poo! mad.gif

My problem now is that I have very low blood pressure and a poor diet. Can anyone suggest a good way to stop me being so stressed (short of stabbing her as that's illegal biggrin.gif).

I need to chill out, relax and stop getting so upset by this situation that, it would appear, I can do nothing about sad.gif

Any ideas for relaxation......preferably apart from the obvious.

You still doing your meditation exersizes?

Tell the 'friend' to take a long walk of a short pier...as I've said to you before.

Music usually helps me relax........

Ever heard of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa)? Look it up on Google or something. It's very relaxing.

grab a bat or heavey hammer , go to the yard and smash bottles of stuff over a canvas and make art...rawrrrr!!!

Falan Gong is really nice... music is good too...
Overfriendly_Kitten
I would suggest stroking a cat or softhaired dog - but with your low BP that might not be a good idea...

I find that stress can be defeated through a combination of things:

food and drink - not too much (I'm not suggesting comfort eating), but something that you really like.
playing your favourite relaxing music (softly)
a bath or shower
a film that you like but have seen a few hundered times... nothing that will make you tense - something where you know all the twists and turns - and can quote along with the characters (I like StarWars for this)

Set aside some time to do this - make sure you have no other commitments or distractions.

If all else fails - I find that a couple of hours playing counterstrike helps a great deal... running around shooting ppl over the internet is phun.

My suggestion is go to a a quite place where you can unwind and just relax if you want listen to some music or just lay there and relax. I do that when I need to do some seariouse thinking.

Thanks guys! I tried relaxing last night after watching a bit of tele. I put on some relaxing chill out music, lit some candles, put some bergamot, lavender and camomile oil in my burner and climbed into bed with a good book. I still feel bleurgh but I'm getting there smile.gif

I find playing extremely violent computer games relaxing. But perhaps that's just me.

Ah but I'd have to get myself into debt to by the computer console and therefore get stressed and defeat the object!

Nice idea though smile.gif

Playing angry music like Wumpscut or Funker Vogt or PM5K is great for calming me down when I'm angry...if I'm stressed but not angry, then I draw, or try to lose myself in a good, harmless fantasy novel, and put on some really melodic music. Or get someone to give you a good backrub while you rant about your day...biggrin.gif

I recommend playing pool in a small venue - say a pub, preferably one with an eclectic rock-based jukebox, perhaps in, say, Warrington. If your opponent tends to pot the black ball halfway through the game, then so much the better... wink.gif

Bah... you gave me a bit of a lowdown on the situation. Frankly, bumcheeks to this so-called 'friend'. May karma bite a big chunk out of her tender bits.
espresso_bean
kava-kava. anti-stress herb that can be made into tea. very good stuff.
Juiceisgood
This is going to sound very stupid male show offy but sex is actually really good for calming down... Other then that, the herbs Eyebright and skullcap are useful if you're getting headaches and fatigue over whatever the trouble is.

But just remember that what ever it is, it'll probably get better with a little time. Things always look worse when they've just happened.

Ha! wink.gif Yes it did help and so did the cider and black and also finding a fellow cider and black drinker smile.gif

I'm still feeling a little off balance right now. The doc seems to think it's stress and low blood pressure but I personally think it's either my ears (infection of sorts) or my eyes or something linked to my sinuses. I'm back to the doctors on Friday for a second opinion.

I'm also joining the gym this week to get my BP back up and I'm taking vitamins, minerals and garlic for good circulation. Melon essential oil is good to healing and health, and I've used others for relaxation.

Thanks to you all for your support and suggestions! Most appreciated biggrin.gif

Yes, bumcheeks to her! She is a complete and utter child. I need to let go and move on but she is constantly digging in. B****! Sorry for the strong language. If I really let go about how much this girl has hurt me and how utterly unfair it all is I'd just have a post with [EDIT] repeated over and over again! mad.gif

Where the devil is he anyway? Does he not get on-line during work hours sad.gif I'm sure he told me on Saturday but I just can't remember like the nitwit I am! rolleyes.gif

running helps for me. Thrown some music on a cd or on my mp3 player and just run. I usually just a mile or so but if I'm REALLY raged, it's three to my cousins basement then I hit the weights for an hour or so.

Well I assume he's a nice guy as he's your friend and you have exceedingly good taste......just look who you chose for an e-wife wink.gif

I'll remember that one for future reference.

Perhaps I should send this text to me 'friend' and see if she gets it??! laugh.gif

I think I agree with Juice. A good bout of rumpy pumpy and a 'the big O' relaxs me and sends me to sleep unsure.gif

I'm getting plenty of that and fantastic 'that' at that....does that makes sense? unsure.gif

I think I have an inner ear infection and I'm going back to the doctors for a 2nd opnion.

Also I'm joining the gym tonight so that should help with my low BP.

I don't meditate for relaxtion at present as I'm not very good at it and it just annoys me and I'm back at square 1 rolleyes.gif

I do chill out with meditation CD's and incense though biggrin.gif

Inner ear infection, eh? I hope not. My GF had labrynthitis a while back, and it sent her completely mental - she couldn't get out of bed as even the slightest movement made her sick. And now she's prone to it - but at least we know what it is when she feels dizzy.

She was prescribed something - I forget what. I'll find out what it was in time for the meet, as I think you may be able to get it sans-prescription.

It was probably stemetil (sp) or something similar. It's a drug that stops you feeling sick and vomitting. It also helps somewhat with the dizziness. I do have some but I don't think it helped. perhaps I should take it again unsure.gif

The doctor this morning didn't seem to think there was anything seriously wrong and I've had these symptoms before. It was labrynthitis for me too. My boyfriend said that it meant I started to sound like David Bowie and hang around with Jim Henson puppets! rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

My Dad gets it occasionally and I think it might be hereditary. Thanks Dad! dry.gif

Ah well, looks like I'll have to live with it for the time being. Dagnamit, I've only just got over glandular fever mad.gif
Industrial Kybosh
You are obviously wise in the ways of inner ear infection. And yes, it was Stemetil (or however one spells it).

I just hope it starts to die down soon. Can't have to feeling dizzy at the meet, can we? Not until after a few cider-and-blacks anyway... wink.gif
