Heya there.. Mata, I've got a coupla quid burning a hole in my pocket and I wanted to donate.. I've got my paypal account all set up, but I have absolutely no freaking idea what to do next, I spent the best part of a night trying to figure this out. Can anyone help?

The best way to start would be to click one of the 'Make a Donation' buttons from the front page then follow the instructions on-screen.

I've never tried sending money without there already being a balance in my PayPal account so you might have to transfer money from your credit card into your PayPal account then from there send it using the button, but I'm sure it will explain all this when you give it a go!

There's two buttons... the top one dun seem to work (or at least it didn't when I tried it) but the one at the bottom of the page works just fine!

Oh, and ya dun need to transfer money to yer paypal account with a credit card, it can transfer direct from it to the recipient. Or at least it did fer me whenever I used it...

Well that's weird... I've fixed it now! I've got no idea what was going on there, I would copy the code from one point on the page onto the other but then it would be different when I pasted it...

Bah sorry Mata.. I will be donating this I Promise to you ( Odd thing, my Dad brought me up to be very strict on spoken agreements ) I wasn't able to send you the amount I wanted to (it was $60.. uh, just under fourty pounds) but I still need to do the verification process (This is a new card after my old one was stolen and cancelled) I'll go into town and pick up a statement tomorrow.. so hopefully I'll be able to do it then!

My credit card is unverified, but I got a $750 limit to play with... which was plenty enough to make payments with. I dun understand...

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what the whole verified/unverified thing is all about.

Technically if a person isn't using a verified card then I'm not supposed to accept their payment but then why do PayPal let them send it in the first place? Also I have no way of knowing when a person verifies their account so it's not like I can wait for them to confirm their account either.

I'm very much looking forward to getting a better shop system set up. That should be happening sometime next year (so I've still got a while of this to go yet!).

Maybe its the type of card you're using leo, mines a lowly Solo.. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Aha!!!!!!! Now we get to the nub of the issue! Yer usin a debit card, hence the need to verify the card. They need to test yer account has funds before they'll let ya use it.

I'm usin a credit card... an I get a limit cos all they do is charge it to me card company (who will always pay out regardless) an then I get billed later. I dunno if the limits vary between cards or not...

weird, i didn't have any trouble donating with a solo card...after verification, obviously...

Thats all I'm waiting to do now Deman.. my card just needs verification then my money'll be winging its way to the Mata-man.
