http://www.waterbirth.org/above is a site on waterbirth.. or giving birth to your child in water. I think it would be worth while because it seems more relaxing and what not.. I thinks its an awesome idea.. any other opinions? do you think its safe? would you try it?
lets talk bout it

Tricky one this... a bloke giving his opinion on a very specific form of child birth...
I'm too old to remember what it was like for me (non water), and haven't decided to start a litter of my own (need to find the right Mrs Overfriendly_kitten first)...
The idea seems sound enough, and if carried out under the correct supervision I'm sure could be a great way to deliver the life inside to an expecting world. The only concern I have is incase (God-forbid) anything goes wrong... there are constantly going to be a myriad of minor and some not-so-minor difficulties that might be difficult to resolve if it means Doctors, Nurses and Midwives having to don swimsuits and dive on in.
All in all, I think that each mother needs to look at the prognosis given to her and make an informed descision for herself.

I dont think I would do the water birth thing. For one you dont get lots of drugs. And if I'm ever going to have a child, well lets just say I'd rather take as much pain out of it as I can. I'm going to have many sleepless nights after, I might aswell take what I can get.

I have seen a thing about different types of births on television once couple years back and this was mentioned. It doesnt hurt the baby at all and it eases a faster recovery time with mothers when doing it in water. Also reduces the pain I heard. I'd be up for it someday.

i think it would be kewl to have a child in water.. it would probably hurt less, and it would give the baby a fimiliar invironment to be born in, becuase they are floating around in water when they are in your womb... so yah, i thnk i would try it
