Take it realistically, be thoughtful, don't spam.

in my opinion, this isn't an issues thread. so don't post it in issues. posting 'don't spam' doesn't make it a thread to go in issues. it might be somewhat serious (i doubt that), but this's a place for......well.....issues. then again, that's just my personal opinion. you apparently thought it was an issues thread.

oh, and i nulled my vote, because this is a semi-pointless poll. but, i'm not going to spam this, so my opinion is i'd destroy the weapon. power corrups, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Although the next to last choice appeals to me, I'm afraid we aren't ready for such a technology, and eventually after I was gone that nation state would become impeerialist or another dangerous element.

The poll helps me ( a relatively new member, however I generally lurk) figure out he people here, mods move at your discretion.

You pose a question like that and then ask people NOT TO SPAM...

You might have a serious issue hidden away amongst all of that - but the way you asked the question is just inviting sillyness.

For the record, my answer is:

1) From the wording of the poll - someone else created the weapon - which implies that they could re-create it - or that others could create it.

2) Any one nation - or organisation that possess such a weapon becomes an unbalanced potential threat to every other nation / organisation.

3) Nations tend to vary in their make up, and stability - so providing such weapons to everyone is potentially risky.

4) Create a community of all nations that work together to possess, monitor and police the weapon - whilst simultaneously ensuring that no other nation attempts to devlop it for themselves.

This is far from the best solution - but I can't think of anything better right now... it being 2.00 am.

Security system for me. Call me paranoid, but I'm not going to sell the technology to anyone... private companies would try to market it or use it to eliminate competition with it, or something, Governments would use it against each other... I don't want to rule a country or the world, and someone would probably recreate it later, even if I burned all records. Best be safe, for me at least.

I would keep the weapon and rule the world because people are stupid and need to be rounded up like cattle. Except for my friends here at TOS. They can be my yes-men and kiss-a***es.

I would detroy it and any records of how it was built. I personally feel that no person/ persons should be allowed to have such power over other people. I suppose I'm just big on the qhole equality thing (even though it's rather idealistic), and therefore do not approve of any such thing that would allow anyone to hold such power over other people. I mean, teh world is already so unbalanced, and lets face it all peopel crave power to some degree (it's human nature) so something like that could probably lead to the demise of society.

Maybe this should be moved to daft, hehe my mistake, admins do your job if you see fit
