i, too, am extraordinarily drunk. like, very very drunk.
but i had a woman buy me some captain morrigan's today. thus far, no toast has been said aloud. i love that boy. loved him. i could care less what tense you use, he is the most wonderful, wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. to myself this evening i said, every drink is for you - every one, and every one was. and now, i'll mix myself a rum n' coke, do what i do every year, and go outside to toast the miracle that dayan is, was, am. whatever. i spoke the truth when i said i've never had a better time in my life than when i was with you.
thank you.

I was thinking about him on Friday, how he managed to look like an evil cherub. It was quite a trick.

Nov 24 2008, 10:00 AM
Evil cherub with a glass eyeball. Which was for no purpose other than the joy of just owning one. And scare the bejesus out of WeeJ at the Brum meet, funny as hell, that was.
Blimey, was it really 5 years ago?! Doesn't seem like five minutes. I remember I was in this crappy little transport office somewhere in the Midlands when I got the call from a very distressed Porce to tell me about it. That was a hard conversation to have, and not aided by the fact that the office was literally crammed with very loud people on their phones. I ended up in the kitchen, trying to console her. Bad day.
Nice knowing ya, D-Man.

It was, amazingly enough. And yet, one thing remains constant. Jason > Kiefer
Edited by Lo...*snicker*Kiefer > JasonEdited by Candice to correct Lo's horrible error: Saw THAT one coming.
I know I'm predictableUh huh. Saw THAT one coming, too.
How about that one?Yup!
now?I had my suspicions. Do you think we'll ever get tired of this? Also, do you think I look like a crazy person to people who don't know the backstory?
Kiefer < Jasonquite possiblyOh well, that is a sacrifice I will just have to make. I am not giving up, because WE ARE RIGHT.
nahhh I'm right, I have a sig pic that says so. lolEven the kittens in your sig know you are wrong. That is why their faces are all scrunched up!
Edited by Leo: You two are bonkers.Maybe so, but don't think I didn't notice that > sign flipped around, mister!
Actually I flipped the sign around....and I'm disappointed in your for not noticing the hidden Kiefer > Jason in here, that you've missed like 5 times now!
Oh and Leo, there is a Dayan related reason for doing this.Oh, you are truly devious!
I know I know.
Did you think I had forgotten about the editting?Yikes! This thing was incorrect for two years! Dayan and I are still RIGHT.

I was watching Donnie Darko and Dayan crossed my mind a fair few times. And then something occurred to me. Donnie Darko was released in 2001, but the closing theme - "Mad World" by Gary Jules - wasn't a hit record until 2003. The song played out just as Donnie was in his dying moments. And I considered how prophetic it was that the song itself was being released around the same time as our D-Man's passing.
And the further thought then occurred that it is extremely likely that The Darkness could owe their success entirely to the D.
And it then occurred to me that perhaps all the rain is because he's badgered someone into attempting to drown Rihanna... but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.
Mata
Nov 29 2008, 12:27 AM
The rain is Dayan sitting on a cloud, peeing on Rihanna's head.

I'm not sure why but the link on the page was set to an old web site where the family album was hosted. I thought I had it at it's current location since I put it up, but apparently not. Anyway, links fixed, go listen to Chinga and smile.

I was thinking about this a couple of days ago: I'm now twice the age that Dayan was when he died. Twice the lifetime... That's a strange thing to think of. It feels to me like pretty much everything important in my life has happened in the last sixteen years. How dark and strange for his life to have ended at the age that I feel mine really had only begun.
Gone, but not forgotten, or too far in the past to be ridiculed a bit. The silly bugger.

Kiefer > Jason ..... and since Cand's not a mod she can't edit this post.

Glassjaw fucking sucks.
I always find it rather interesting that the songs that make me think of Dayan seem to come up on my iPod and on the radio this time of year. Well even if they don't today I'll have to pull out some Pixies or the Smiths.

Now that makes me feel like an old bugger... I was twice his age when he was still alive
And now I stop to think about it, in the six years since he passed, my life has changed completely. Not suggesting that they are related in any way (highly unlikely, as the changes started happening before the meet in Birmingham) but it's funny how time flies, how things change and so on, and I can't help thinking how his life could've been so very different now too.

Miss you debaser. It's so awful that your life was cut so short. Thinking back to how many years I have been a member of this site and how much my life has changed in those years, it's truly shocking to imagine that Dayan is missing out on so many things today. How old would he be now? 24? It's unbelievable, there is no greater tragedy than a young life cut short. Life is full of ups and downs but is all around beautiful, I wish you were here to share it with us today Dayan.
