Commie reminded me about everyone forgetting Afghanistan. I did, too, at one point in time. But... here we are with Iraq being daily news and there's all this violence and my Time magazine has three articles on Iraq but Afghanistan was an early issue...and it never turned into what Iraq has. I admit to being rather uninformed about Afghanistan. But, still...wasn't Afghanistan a bigger terrorist threat? What are the plans for us reconstructing Afghanistan? How many more countries are we going to do this to? Who's next? Iran? There are all these big-news stories about Iraq. Are there still soldiers in Afghanistan? Isn't there still violence there? wacko.gif And what's with no news on Saddam either? Weren't we supposed to capture bin Laden a while ago? Wasn't he originally residing in Afghanistan? OK, keep in mind that these may not be all correct, but that's what YOU get to do is correct them for me. biggrin.gif

What are the plans for us reconstructing Afghanistan?
We destroyed the taliban regime, and I believe put a provisional government in place. With lac of media attention I can't say much.
QUOTE
How many more countries are we going to do this to?
Time will tell, hopefully none.
QUOTE
Who's next? Iran?
There is already a pro-democracy movement there. If we let it go unobstructed, then it might succeed. If we intervene, we will probably only have them unite against us, though this is not a definate.
QUOTE
Are there still soldiers in Afghanistan?
Yes.
QUOTE
Isn't there still violence there?
Probably though dimished I'm sure.
QUOTE
And what's with no news on Saddam either?
We just found out who his lawyer was, these things take time. Right now he is in US custidy, awaiting a trial, from whom I don't know.
QUOTE
Weren't we supposed to capture bin Laden a while ago?
Several times we were close, but he's one slippery guy or the US is biding its time.
QUOTE
Wasn't he originally residing in Afghanistan?
He is supposed to be there or Pakistan, but he could have moved by now.
Ocean!
But still we manage to never hear anything at all about him. But then there's all this hype about Mr.So-Damn-Insane. (sorry) and I haven't heard diddly about Bin Ladin. My guess is that Bin Ladin was getting old and they went on to Hussein, or they have Bin Ladin, and have been waiting for the right time to tell us all. (*cough* election time *cough*)

It's all a conspiracy, I tell ya!

I assume you mean Bin Laden. What do you want to hear? That we can't find him? He recently released another recording(supposedly him anyway) on the internet. There's nothing new. And what if we do know something of his location. You think we're going to broadcast our intelligence on CNN? I don't quite know what you want to hear, because there is either no new news, no good news, or no revealble news.

Possibility, but don't jump to conclusions.

Conspiracy doesn't happen often, you think the government can keep secrets?
