Those who have been around here a while may remember my Song Dedication thread. It was fun, but time consuming and hard, which made my feeble brain hurt.

This year, to show my love to you all, I have a different plan...

Sunday 23rd, I am going out for a massive drinking session to celebrate my birthday (the following day). I've invited everyone I know in the area, and would obviously love you lot to join me.

You can't. You're too bloody far away.

Instead, I plan to dedicate a hearty swig of booze to every person who wants such a tribute. It's the next best thing to you actually being there!

I did intend to dedicate entire drinks, but judging by the response to the Song thread last year, I'd need a new liver afterwards...

Here's what you do:

1) write your name
2) specify a drink, or type of drink (let's not go mental - no champagne or Absinthe)
3) add a brief message, if you wish

And so, with all that done, you will be safe in the knowledge that my drunken thoughts will be with you on my pre-birthday boozefest, and I will have several names to curse the following morning. Huzzah!

BTW, if Newcastle-Under-Lyme isn't too far out of your way, you are welcome to stop by for a swift one in person. Just peruse the interiors of The Old Bull's Head, The Hogshead, The Old Brown Jug and The Full Moon - my likeliest watering holes.

Bah - I could well go, but I've an exam on the 24th. Celebratory binges are rarely a good idea the night before.

I would imagine it's a lot like what actually comes out of a badgers arse.....after a heavy drinking session......and a curry!

Alarmingly, I was pretty much fully functional the morning (feh, early afternoon...) after. I was pretty surprised, as I covered pretty much all the bases.

Granted, the drinks list got hazy, and cocktails were mooted early on - always the ruiner of a perfect plan - but all those who contributed to this thread were on my mind as I corroded my internal organs and wasted valuable brain cells.
