I don't think so - even though it IS a made-up language, so is Esperanto, and it's valid in this forum. Besides, this isn't based on English, to my knowledge - it's a language with its own vocabulary and grammar rules. Only ones that are more-or-less just encoded English, such as Pig Latin or binary, are removed from here.

Klingon is a valid and recognized language. It is taught in colleges and there is even an institute dedicated to its study. The KLI is an actual 501©3 nonprofit institute. It's run by an actual professor of languages. The same can be said for a language like Elvish. Prof. Tolkien was also a Prof. of Language/Linguistics. These aren't just made up funny sounds, they're full fledged languages. Both Shakespear and the Bible have been translated into Klingon (tlhIngan'Hol). Anyone with a serious interest in languages and lingiuistics could benifit from learning to work with languages like this.

Actually, no, I know the director of the KLI, he teaches locally here in Philly, we used to go to the same Star Trek fan group meeting, I sort of, um, er, know the language naturally (god that's embarassing after reading what some people here think about it). So oh well, whatever, call me a geek. I think learning languages is interesting. Espically ones that are obscure and likely not to be known by many people.

jIyajbe'... i'm having trouble because you are spelling things differently than the dictionary and a lot of words sound very similar so the best i can guess is that you said "be less strong to worsen agression"?

but you should be proud. being a geek is the best thing in the world! hmmm... i can't find a word for "geek" in my dictionary... 'oHlughbe'.

Hehe, I thought I'd throw you off with that, it's actually Romulan and I hadda use an online translator to do it so it didn't really work very well, It says something to the effect of "But Vulcan is even more difficult to learn".

A Klingon speaking Romulan wouldn't be a shame, it'd be a very useful spy.

Vulcan isn't quite as detailed as Klingon, there's no true lexicon for it or any strong background. Klingon is a lot more like Tolkien's Elvish, it's actually a legitimate language in itself. It can be fun but it can also get you labled the biggest geek on the planet. Of course, that's NOT a bad thing, remember that.
