thank you!
when we started WWII in history, my teacher made a token apology to any nazis who might be in the class because although pretty much everyone else has the right to an opinion no matter how stupid and/or evil, society will never tolerate nazis. just to point out that a society that claims to be tolerant has its limits, and to make us question how far we should go in the name of tolerance. he was cool like that.

: Did Hitler have syphilis? Irving tells her, as he has written, that Hitler tested negative for the venereal disease, which at the time was usually fatal. Despite Irving's unpopular Holocaust views, his professional opinion still carries weight with some Hitler scholars. Hayden, on the other hand, believes that Hitler was rotting to death from late-stage syphilis and that his condition affected the course of history. It is typical of the intrepid Hayden that she chose to beard Irving in his lair, rather than contact him via a more antiseptic method such as e-mail or telephone.

but there are a lot of idiots that followed him, still do. they can't all have syphilis... i go for the more popular theory: people are stupid and fearful. under such conditions it's easy to create scapegoats. scapegoats become objects of hate, and humans tend to be violent towards things they hate.

it is my philosophy that hitler's insanity came from his seemly want of attention and depevation of love.
probably hated his father a wanted to have his mother all to himself....... i'm just talking out of my a** right now.
but seriously i think some people are born evil without morals, and people need a solded explanation thus the crazed std story was born

I note that Simon Wiesenthal holds this theory - he's in the news lately 'cause he's retiring at, like, 94 or something. Kinda adds credence to it, I think.

In
this article, it says there are rumours (ie, wild unfounded speculation) that he got syphilis from a Jewish prostitute (how'd he know? "honey, can I visit you again tomorrow?" "No, I don't work on the Sabbath.") and he blamed Jews for the spread of syphilis.
The scary and fascinating (I admit it) thing about Hitler is that a human being could be so violent (evil seems like an overused, underdefined word) against other human beings and still not only remain free but persuade other people to follow him. To a certain extent it speaks to the dissatisfaction of the German people to the result of the first world war but - nothing explains it entirely, by a long shot.
Does anyone know how many people Pol Pot murdered? I think it's up there.

i think hitler just had parental issues, these might have been tirggered by syphilis but the entire third reich was started because he was rejected from art school and he got drunk and shared his political views well, he got some people behind him and its history from there
btw, i hope everyone knows that his hatred was actually hatred of his paretns just blow up to the whole world, his parents were a jew and a gypsy and he wasnt ayrian and he wanted to be, that what the whole problem is
sorry, i know alot about hitler from the hitler channel, sometimes its also known as the history channel but what else could the H be for if not for hitler, i mean, look at the programming

I don't know. I feel a kind of pity for Hitler. He's so violent, but he thinks he's justified in his killings. I wonder what went on in that poor, deranged head.
On another hand, maybe he was completely sane. Then. . . I don't know.
Perhaps people say he's insane because they can't stand that a rational human being can commit such horrible crimes.

textbooks dont cover the time because they are telling you what they want you to know, not how it felt, the only reason for a text book is to read for learning and then a test....
but think, enough people were behind him for them to not be insane, many nazis were completely sane, and they were the ones actually commiting the acts of brutal destruction, so maybe the leader was, but he only was able to plan ideas, the people made them grow into actions

If syphillis was the thing that eats away your brain, I think it might not.
If anyone's read the Replica series, a lot of evil *geniuses* that seemed 100% sane (not just seemed... I mean they WERE) wanted to create a perfect race of humans... Maybe it is just an impossibility some people with weird minds want to acheive for the "greater benefit" of the planet. ... I'll add more when my train of thought gets going.
racingaway13
May 20 2003, 03:15 AM
(yeah thought trains are so slow...) anyways, i think most evil genuiuses are bordering between sane and insane at the minimum, because who could honestly believe in a right mind that death to all "infirior races" is a good thing? i just dont see that happening... i think they must all have issues

i must have missed this thread...
textbooks - they are completly UNCONTROVERSIAL!!! if something can upset .00001% of its readers, its taken out.. alot of the stuff in text books are FALSE!! my text book for history explains the "famine" of ireland, and what the british government did to help it... ALL LIES!!! THERE WAS NO FAMINE!! there was plenty of food... just the iresh werent alowd to eat it... the british did nothing for there little colony... all they did was pay for them to be sent to america, and at that time, the iresh were below the slaves, the slaves had value to their owners... the iresh, they were given the jobs too unsafe for the slaves... and the irish sent to britian, they got work houses, and the average life expetancy was 30 days...
DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ IN TEXT BOOKS!

IM ONE TO YELL TOO!!! I HATE THESE TEXTBOOKS CUZ THEY ARE SUCH BIASED LIARS AND THEY HAVE SUCH A MCARTHYIST ATTITUDE TOWARDS COMMUNISM AND SOCIALISM AND ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE AMERICAN "CAPITALISM" WHICH ISNT EVEN CAPITALISM!!! GAAAH!!! my government textbook is full of shit, its got a section about other economys and its so f***ing biased!!! THOSE BASTARDS!!! and then my teacher is a teacher here on work papers i believe, so yeah, she has no clue about our government (shes here from india) so she has a grasp enough of the english languege to pass off as fluent but in speaking shes hard to understand, this coupled with her not knowing the subject and poor teaching abilities in teh first place makes for an aweful government class

i have a history exam on friday 13th june.....
i don't think he was insane, just disillusioned. there's a difference between the two. maybe he thought that if he created a perfect race, bad stuff like murders and stuff like inherited diseases wouldn't be a problem, so in some weird way, he was doing it for what he thought was a good reason....
but i still don't agree with some of the stuff they did....especially if you watch schindler's list, it's so sad.
and textbooks...... *rarrrr* don't want to hear that word!!

that is true that he had a cold vision but what brought about this cold vision? was it insanity from syphilis? parents? no job satisfaction (he was an artist for those not in the know)? what do you think brought about his cold dark visions? was it just a logical choice as a way to power because of the scapegoat system of hating someone so your problems dont seem so bad? maybe he just got a bit outta hand with some odd ideas... what do you think maik? (nice to see ya around too)
