This is too serious and current events-y for Daft, but fun nonetheless.

This Land (nonpartisan political flash cartoon)

Any fun that you can find in the election, feel free to post it. Jokes, no matter how biased or stupid they may be, are much appreciated.

I think Americans take politics too seriously sometimes, and the partisan-ism of this election is frightening. We all really need to step back and realize... really, we're voting for some unrealistic idiot of the socioeconomic elite no matter what we do, so why all the fuss? No matter who's in office at the end of all this, we're going to hate them two years into their presidency anyway. laugh.gif

That was great...I liked it! They showed part on the news....with Kerry and the ball gag, that one surprised me, but in the end I found the hundreds of complaint letters they were going to get halarious. biggrin.gif

Oh, I just got a link to that a couple days ago. It was fun because I could watch it with my father, who has many views opposite of mine. The link I got was from jibjab.com though.

This was in my Sunday comics - I LOVE the boondocks.

I'm a big fan of Tom Tomorrow, who makes weekly political cartoons that are all very funny (I've not read one yet that didn't make me snicker, and I've been reading them religiously for over a year).

This was his last one particularly about the election. Here's a link to more of his stuff

This is my personal favorite. I have all of his cartoons cut out and taped to my wall, but this one never gets old.

I think that there are two quotes that need to be said before all things political.

"The difference between a democrat and a republican? A democrat sucks, a republican blows." - Lewis Black

"I hate politics. The republicans scare me and the democrats confuse me." -A good friend, John Hebble.

The educational theorist Jean Piaget has said that confusion is a necessary step in the process of learning because it creates discomfort that leads to energy to proceed to the next plateau of wisdom.

The science fiction writer Frank Herberet, in his enormously successful novel Dune says "Fear is the mind-killer."

Me, I'll choose confusion over fear any day of the week ...

I'm a big fan of Tom Tomorrow,

Me too, and I have been since the Reagan adminstration - yes, sweetums, he's been doing this strip since before you were born. The problem is, people aren't listening to him.

I love the animation.

... I also agree with a lot of it. Neither candidate strikes me as someone that I want leading my country.

Of course, I'm only sixteen, so I have no say. But. ... Political cartoons are always the most interesting when you follow them.

When I first came across this link, I thought it was a joke URL. Click on it an you'll see.

Unfortunately, the guy only finished 2 of the 4 linking pages on this site. I still appreciate the title of one of them : "How Fucked We Are Right Now."

Guaraldi I must beg your pardon, but isn't and hasn't GW also and always been fabulously wealthy, in referrence to your first cartoon. I don't think Bush worked very hard to get to his spot either.

This is in Issues, I expect even some recognizing of paper thin comedy.
Guaraldi
I think it is fair to say he worked harder than John Kerry. No disrespect to John, but the hardest thing he had to do was get her to say, "I do".
Sir Maxerpopple
Does that make him any more adequate to help the blue collar working man, getting a corporation from his father and running it from above, not supporting it from below?

Neither seem like true populists to me, but what do I know, I'm a white collar bougie whose never felt the "struggle".
MistressAlti
Um, it's supposed to be comedy here. Note that in the opening post that I said bias was okay. I don't care if the jokes portray either candidate as Jesus himself, so long as it's funny.

For reference, there are probably several pre-existing political debate threads going already! tongue.gif

Caution: A couple of swear words.
This is a comic whose owners actually live in Sweden. The comic is usually about videogaming, but they get political occasionally.

The New Yorker takes sides here, apparently for the first time in eight decades.

I've been trying to remain vaguely non-partisan in this election (well, for the last couple of months, so you may not have noticed...), but the New Yorker has swept me away with its style. You must read that article, all of you.

My friend sent me this game. And I mean, who wouldn't want to play a game where you can be Mr. T and the Hulk? (Not that that's half the characters you can play as.)

How low the mighty have fallen when such noble words, fit for the founding fathers themselves, are left unheeded. sad.gif I love my country, and I fear what will become of it under four more years of Bush's "stewardship", but more do I fear the thought that whatever may befall; we have sown the seeds with our own hands and so deserve to reap the fruit of disaster that will come.
