More or less, yeah. For those arriving on the Fridyah there is the offer of a possible night out to celebrate my good friend's 21st birthday party, but for those who don't want to go, or aren't arriving til saturday anyway, here's the vague plan:

- Lunch in town about midday for those hungry ones, probably at Rufus T Firefly's (pub) or if underagers are kicked out then one of many J.D. Whetherspoons or some such nonsense.

- Pub anyway

- Dinner at about 5/6, probably at pizza hut or Bella, this to accomodate candi and moop not being around for lunch tongue.gif

- Short tour of Glasgow (ie we go to Kelvingrove Park and then back down to:

- Pub. Or accomodation. Probably until about 11. At this point, underagers will be sent safely home and a decision as to whether or not the Cathouse is financially feasible shall be made, and those who are staying with me shall be promptly escorted there (as you can't get into my house without me anyway tongue.gif)

Sunday will consist of mild hangovers, late sleeping and seeing any leavers off. Those who stay for sunday will be treated to a more thorough tour of the Glasgow city centre, or perhaps a picnic lunch in aforementioned kelvingrove park, depending on the weather/availability of picnic equipment.

Any activities further than this can be arranged and discussed on site.

As for meeting points, I'm meeting everyone in either a city centre or airport location. If you havent already arranged this with me then let me know, and if you need/want/desire my bod- I mean my mobile number then don't hesitate to ask in a PM.
froggle-rock
Okies, I am definatly comming... Thanks to the cheap tickets on from Mega Bus. I have some meetee's numbers, but if anyone else wants to exchange digits just PM me. I'm getting in very early on Saturday morning.

And I'm bouncyited! *bounces with excitement*

EDIT: What picnic equipment exactly are you thinking you'll be needing, Tara?
Tarantio
Well at present time I have none at all, except substitute stuff. I can use bags to carry stuff, towels to sit on, but I have no useable plates/cutlery. Paper plates are easy enough to get, and I suppose plastic cutlery can do as well... But flasks/bottles may be a problem for drinks... I'll see what I can knock up on sunday.
Tarantio
Yay! it begins today!

As follows, meeting arrangements are thus:

I'm meeting Zivane off the plane at 9.50 this morning (ohmy.gif less than six hours!)
Cath shall be arriving at my house (or thereabouts) between 3 and 4 today.
Greeneyes arrives at 18.50 at either Prestwick or Glasgow Int. Airport on fridyah (please let me know which!!!)
Jaq arrives at Buchanan bus station at 6.50 saturday morning, shall be met.
Frogstar arrives at Buchanan bus station at 8.25 saturday morning, shall also be met.
Moop and Candi arrive at Central Train Station at 3.13 saturday afternoon, shall be met and directed to accomodation.

please correct any of this if it is wrong!

Plans for fridyah afternoon are vague - I have to be at home to meet cath, and I probably need some sleep so I'll be coming back from town after meeting zivane, napping, then meeting Cath and getting Greeneyes to his hotel somehow.
That evening I have a birthday party to attend at my mates house; Cath, you're more than welcome, I just asked him and his and they're fine with it. This probably means no night out on fridyah though, which may be a relief for some.

Saturday morning I shall be up first thing to fetch Jaq and froggy from town. Zivane and Greeneyes, the place to meet us is Glasgow Queen Street Train Station, and the time is mid day. I'll tell you when I meet you and give directions. Then lunch will commence. I'll arrange to have you guys' stuff transported back to my place where neccessary and then we can meet candi and moop off their train too. Once everything is sorted and the likes, we'll take a vote on the Cathouse for the night, and regardless of that start getting drunk at a pub. I'll also sort out arrangements for what time people leave and how to get about kicking you out of my city at this point.

I know this is mostly reiteration, but I'd be very annoyed if I messed anything up here! See you all shortly!
Cath Sparrow
Aaaaawwwwww! He's so sweet wanting to get everything right. biggrin.gif
I was thinking we can use my car to meet Froggy and Jaq. It'll save some time and mean we'll be able to get back to your dump there stuff and still have time to chill for a bit before heading back into town.
froggle-rock
That's really kind, Cath. -I'm sure Jaq won't object.

Tara, I have plastic plates n cutlery and such, and a bit of material used as a picnic cloth. Just the one flask, and I'm sure a rucksac will be a good substitute for a picnicing box. Oh, do I need to bring a sleeping bag for both Jaq and I?

Right I'd better go and put my phone on charge.
Greeneyes
It's Glasgow Airport (as in, not Prestwick). If it's too much trouble, don't worry about meeting me though. I'm sure I can find my way.
froggle-rock
And is there a dress code for the club?

I have two rucksacks, but sleeping bags will be a good idea - I have two couches, a good clean floor, but no downys, or any other covering besides.

I think it should be okay to come and get you anyway, but if not I checked out the bus times; there's three services from the front of the airport, all regular so you can get to town quick enough. From there its a quick journey to your hotel. I will make the effort to meet you, I got Zivane alright this morning.

*pause*

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. seriously. I've been in there with nothing other than a loincloth before. No dresscode. At all.

...and now it's over! Just got back from the bus station where a nice man swapped tickets with Jaq so she and froggy could get the same bus home to london together and no more foreign matazionians are here in scotland anymore. Thanks to everyone that came along, it was great to see you all and I hope you had as good a time as I did (well, better, since I seem to have been so tired all the time, but you know what I mean!). Hopefully the good publicity will allow this to happen again in the future, though I doubt it'll happen again for a long time. The photos are ace, btw. And Cath, I spotted that sign too, I'll remember that when I'm hungry and in town late next, or entertaining.

Wow....poofie must have been slacking in the picture-deleting if so many pictures of him actually came out tongue.gif

And it must be said:

So. Very. Blond. *jealouses*

Yay! I had a really, really enjoyable weekend.

Saturday: Getting into Glasgow at stoopid o'clock in the morning; snoozing at Tara's; meeting Zavine and Poofie (he's real, and prodable); pub lunch (mmm mint lamb burger and apple cider and licking of the spnge); meeting Cand and Moop; searching for a belated birthday pressie for my brother (pumping heart); chilling in the park; signing Sara's Poofie boob in plain sigh of all john public in the park ohmy.gif; alkimahol shopping (empty pringles packets found); drinking (Korean alikimohole) and mucking about at Tara's; having camera war with Moop; practicing being a lady with Cath on the bus ride into Glasgow; boogeying on down at a club (Cath has it going on, but Tara was _teh_ dance monkey); making a friend for the night at said club- migh meet with her when he comes to London; sleeping some more at Tara's

Sunday: Meeting up for pre leaving (non alcoholic) drinks with Cand and Moop, then seeing them off; shooping for picnic (mmm pork liver pate wink.gif); hugging Cath 'bye, bye' (pirate pictures!); having a picnic in this park that was in the westend eating custard and black currant pie *rubs belly*(I think) in lovely sunshine; laying in the sun in the park; faffing about back at Tara's; making an interesting sauce for pasta (leftover spicey curry potatoes mashed up with chopped salad, blue vein cheese and milk, which was actually really nice); drinking a little bit more; sleeping.

Monday: visiting a beach in Toon; making a sand castle; not turning into a lobseter at the beach because I fell asleep there dry.gif; eating chips, hot chips; convincing Jaq to go for a swim with me in the sea; not actually going for a swim due to seeing a few jellyfish after we'd waded upto our waists *meep*; helping to bury Tara's brother in sand; demoloshing the sand castle; a dinner of spag balls (mmm) then packing up at Tara's and heading into town to get the coach back to London (snaps for the stranger who swapped coach tickets with Jaq so we could actually not just take the same route leaving at ~ the same time and arriving at ~ the same time, but be on the same bus; and then Londonwards.

Like I said I had a wicked weekend. Felt very comfy with you all (yease- that comfortable) It was nice to go for a boogey at the club- I haven't in a long while. Pity Zavine didn't make it to the drinking, club or the picnic. I was well impressed with the weather, it was sunny, like S, U double N, Y. It might have been a small meet, but it was still mucheaous fun wink.gif

And thankyou to Tara for playing host wink.gif
Mata
It looks like you all had a great time.

'Shame about the timing of things meaning I ended up in a completely different country for the meet/duration of Jaq's stay. I'll say this though: Tara, how on earth do you afford to get down to so many of the southern meets? Your ticket bills must be huge!
Tarantio
I told you Mata, Megabus!

Last time I came to London I spent 70 for the weekend; travel amounted to about 32-33 of that.

Of the travel expenses, 17 was a return to Pat's town for breakfast on the Sunday, and about 10 or 11 was underground fares. The bus there and back cost about 4.50

It's all about putting up with the screaming kids and cramped seats. Flying to scotland or from it is ridiculously priced, so train and bus are a far cheaper option. Shame about your travel sickness that rules them out for you, but hey it happens wink.gif Hope you had an equally good time in Italy!

Yay! I see Jaq and Froggy doing the Yellow Brick Road dance!

Jaq taught that to me in a Tim Horton's parking lot at night, while old ladies looked on. It amused me.

And that is all I have to say.

But it's okay! It's okay! We're daaaance majors!

I'm not sure why I teach people that.. probably because I found it so hard learning it and I like seeing other people struggle just as much. Though, Polocrunch learned it almost immediately. Must be a mutant.

I had a really good time as well. It was so nice meeting the people off the forum and realizing that, 'hey, you're exactly the same offline as on' and in some cases even more so. Thanks to Tara and his parental units for feeding me and letting me steal assorted beds

Must be the gay gene. Better dancers, and all that.
