[Turn around], altijd nu en dan ik hep een betje [lonely] en jij komt heir niet...

Hmm. It's tricky trying to do 'Total eclipse of the heart' in Dutch.

That song is bad enough in English.... :/
Phantom
Ha! that song! I did that one with a classmates on a playback show in the 8th grade.
She wanted to team up with me because she never won a trophy before and I most
of the time got the first place with playback show ^^
Role playing for me I guess, I once ended up being in local news and local papers
because of it, still pretty proud about that biggrin.gif

But anyways.. Turnaround, every now and then I get a
little bit lonely and you're never coming around :

Draai je om, zo nu en dan ben ik erg alleen en jij draait nooit bij

^^ there you go ^^ it's a tricky one because it's synonyms involved smile.gif
Mata
I'd translate that as:

Turn you on, so now and then be I some lonely and you turn never by/here.

I've got a long way to go before I good enough to turn Bright Eyes into that! biggrin.gif

stop the google translate XD btw do you have a english to dutch dictonary?
Mata
That's not with Google translate, that's just how I read the words smile.gif

I think I've got a dictionary somewhere (Laura bought it) but I don't carry that into shops with me. I learn most of my words in shops when I'm trying to work out what things actually are - Google translate is on my phone and usually pretty good for one word at a time; it's when you get on to whole sentences that it gets into problems sometimes, but it's often enough to give me the rough idea of what a letter says, for example.

This might be thread necromancy but I have to respond to that: Bonny Tyler, really?
Mata
It is not so much an ear worm as an ear python. You might not like Bonnie Tyler, but that song just refuses to let go of your brain.

(Het is fantastisch op SingStar, ook!)
BigMistake
You almost got that right. The "ook" should go in front of fantastic.
Mata
Ik denk dat erste, maar ik vroegen zich af het kunnen dat weg zijn. (Which is almost certainly completely wrong... But I'm trying!)

You could leave out the "ook" yeah. Het is fantastisch op Rock Band 3 =D.

Hoe gaat het nu met je Nederlands Mata? Heb je al in het boek gelezen dat ik je toen gegeven heb?

Mata
Ik leer Nederlands heel langzaam biggrin.gif Ik kan een betje nu lezen, maar neit geneog nog voor dat boek.
Phantom
Goed om te horen, laat me weten als je aan het boekje toe bent. Ik ben erg benieuwd wat je ervan vind smile.gif
