So there’s this boy, right. He’s always felt out of place. He wears big, think rimmed glasses, and he lives in a pretty miserable situation… But then he finds out he’s got magical powers! And he gets an owl! And he goes to magic school and learns that he’s destined to be a great magician!<\/p>\n

I am, of course, writing about Neil Gaiman’s 1990 story ‘The Books Of Magic’<\/a>\"\", and the rest of the books in the series. Hell, it’s such a nice set-up it’s amazing that no-one’s blatantly ripped it off yet!<\/p>\n
