Okay, I want to go as Waylon from Mushroomhead (Google search it). THe thing is, they wear white jumpsuits covered in blood and my jumpsuit is charcoal gray. It's of a material similar to Dickies and I'd like to bleach it as close to white as possible. The thing is, I have no idea how I'm going to do that. I've never bleached anything before. I could use a few tips.

Lots of bleach - add suit - job done. biggrin.gif

Assuming it's fully cotton any, man made fibres will go an odd colour.

Thanks, snuggs.

I have a similar jumpsuit, but it's blue. Would it be better to bleach that instead?

EDIT: How exactly am I to do this, thought? I've never bleached anything before. SHould I gill up a five gallon bucket full of chlorine bleach, put the jumpsuit in and just wait? Help me out here.

Enough bleach to cover the fabric. Make sure you move it about so that it doesn't have crease lines. *shrug*

In the UK can you can buy 'white dye' as it were, which isn't quite bleach but does the job.

...why do you own a jump suit?

Edit: ...why do you own more than one jump suit?

Black tends to go a pinkish color when exposed to bleach. I'd try putting the edge of a sleeve of the jumpsuit in a bucket, and leaving it there for about ten minutes. If it goes white, then presto chango you've hit upon a solution. If not, chop off the sleeve and try diluting the bleach and testing different strengths on the chopped-off sleeve.

Don't get bleach on your hands. I makes them go nasty.

I know it is common sense, but I thought I'd just point it out biggrin.gif

And depending if it is pure cotton, or a poly cotton mix, you might want to dilute the bleach a little.

I decided to use my blue one instead. It's 65% polyester and 35% cotton. Any ideas?

EDIT: My friend and I decided to screw it, so we're gonna take it to the sewing machine and make a replica of one of their gray jumpsuits from the XX/Ozzfest tours.
