I'm not really sure where this belongs so I decided it fell under the Daft heading...

Do you remember those interesting individuals that used to frequent the forums? People like Quoth(The Raven) and Jimi Jimi? What about WeeJ? Or Silver Star Angel of Da Towers? Who here remembers those past-forumites? Who here still remembers the Matabar or the many Harems? I wonder who still talks to their Flying Cats? Who still recognizes the power of being spangled? Who has run from scuttlers and hid in the wardrobe?

If you still remember those times, post here in rememberance of them.

personally, I try not to focus on past Matazone too much. That was one of the reasons I was absent for so long - some of those memories are so good that when you get to remembering them, you start to miss them a lot. obviously I'm not just talking about 'How Much Do You Miss Industrial Kybosh?' or the Matabloid or Matamon or Corpline, e-bachelorette, Mata's anim survivor (that corp voice guy did NOT win, sadly), but that was also a big part of it. I'm glad that the forums are still going strong and that all the new people can make their own memories here the way I did with cand, Lo, Missy, InKy, Leo, Dayan, Cheez, Jon, Ravein, Tara, everyone - this place just has a way about it that anyone, at any age, can just come here to chat and feel instantly surrounded by best friends.

So yeah, I remember. The place is a liiiittle more serious than it used to be, but it's still good for new memories and the old ones.

I remember them all. smile.gif

I also remember that it was some sort of huge shock that I was only 12, and now we've got 8 year old members!

It's kinda weird though, it's like as I grew up and got a bit more serious, the forums have too. But the people here have always been here for me when I needed it. When I had just moved to a new school in seventh grade and had no friends, people were here to goof off with, and now that I'm older and am dealing with more difficult things, you're all still here. It's pretty freaking awesome, to put it simply.

I do wonder, though, do we still duct tape n00bs to the ceiling?

Well since n00bs can't create new Introduction threads its kinda hard to do that to them....

Though I suppose we could round some of them up and do it for old times sake!...

I'm fairly sure that they can. They can create new topics in introductions and personal concerns, can't they? I can't remember exactly.

Wow, who would have thought that moop would start such a fad when he started duct taping new people to the ceiling? tongue.gif

When I've got more time I might put together a list of banned people so you can all have a big hiss at them. Then again I might not. Who knows?

Has anyone mentioned Leopold yet? Or PorcelainWarrior?

Porce is another one of those people I've been meaning to attempt to stalk for a decent catch up, but haven't done so yet. I did talk to CheeseIsFunny (Jon) a little while ago, and from what I remember, he mentioned he'd joined the military.

Oh oh, agony uncle thread - ask jonman (again optional). That would completely eliminate the personal concerns forum.

Or Ashbless? I haven't seen her round recently.

I think I've been here for a reasonable amount of time but, truth be told, I'm still pretty scared of everyone here. Not in a 'aahh!' way, just in a 'too shy to be friendly' way, if that makes any sense at all... ah, am rambling.

I've written several responses to several threads and forgone them because I'm not exactly sure how to say hey-again, but, ya know. The Lost Forumites probably miss the forum, too.

InKy was the reason I first came to Matazone.

... It's a shame he's gone.

But, uh. Hi guys.

Strange how I decided to stumble upon this site again, hm?

I was doing a bit of reminiscing. I joined this site when I was 13 or 14, and I was really just looking for a place to fit in. I felt comfortable here, but also as I grew older, I realized I was dependent. My social interactions in real life had been hindered. I know it's only been a few years but I think that I have seriously matured.

I think I'll start popping up again though.
I miss the good old days.

whoa.
must be something about the holidays. including me (since i'm never REALLY gone), I'd say about..four or five old members have started actively posting again. That = awesome, because this place, when extremely active, is wonderful. well, aside from the very occasional problem, but that's just that - occasional.

InKy's still floating around, saa. try PMing him, he may get back to you, but he's still very slippery.

Tigersong.

Dancing Hamster Guy. I liked him even though he tried Mata's patience to the point of being banned.
Whatever happened to JimiJimi anyway? I liked him well enough.

Laramon and his Lady. Her name begins with Fey? I wonder how it worked out for them and hope they are, collectively or seperately, doing very well.

Quoth the Raven.
The forumite formerly known as Because I Can. I liked his in your face manner.

As for me - I'm around. I just tend to lurk unless I've something to say.

Feyliya. There's a name that brings back memories.

It's lovely to see so many old friends popping back in.

The forums aren't as busy as they once were partially because I've not had time to make new animations, which reduces the amount of new people passing through. Perhaps the Halloween animation bumped things up a bit?

Jonman is happy, well, and living in Seattle with his wife, Kisah (that's her username on here). I heard from him a couple of weeks ago. I think he's very busy with work, hence not coming on here as much as he once did.

Is that a proper medical doctor title? If he studied dentistry then he's still a mister. There are many doctors who are dentists, but not all dentists are doctors. Either way, good on Tigersong. It's a very worthwhile profession... Even if it does make me think of the song from Little Shop Of Horrors.
