He does look incredibly cheerful biggrin.gif

I've just sent a couple more on their way to Odibio in Peru for 3 more bulls (he is expanding a lot - he only had 2 before):

And to Kanyansheko Bakyara Twimukye Group, who are in Ibanda, Uganda. They run a hairdressing shop and need more chairs and products to sell. Everyone's got to earn a living somehow!

Kiva's been reminding me that I had $50 to lend, so today it went to Fatmeh al-Dukkak in Jordan. She's building a chicken house!

Aww, she sounds really nice!

I've got $14 in my account at the moment - hopefully I'll get some more back over the next month to lend again soon. I've been going for slightly longer-term loans recently so I'm not get bpaid back so quickly.

I've decided to support farmers today - I figure if you help the bottom of the chain then everything improves all the way up.

Two from the Philippines and one from Mongolia. I still think it's amazing that I can send cash to help people in these places, then get it back to send out to other people. Awesome!

hehe the first one he is cool like the Fonze. But the last one has 'tude.

I like the whole consept that the small amount I can afford can go to help someone and when I get it back it can back out to help someone else rather than just disapearing after helping just the one.

It does say something that he has to hide his face, but that is a nice box he's using to do so!

I have decided to sacrifice my Skyrim pre-order and use it for Kiva. And I've included 50 euro's a month for charities. And I'm still rich, apparently.

EDIT:

I started off with a pig farmer from the Phillipines and a woodsworkman (actual word?) from Armenia.

How do you go about picking your people? I like to choose them by interesting things in their pictures, like my first loan went to a lady who had a t-shirt I liked and a pig.

Well, the pig farmer I chose mainly because I filtered my search for agriculture (I liked what Mata said about improving the bottom so it can work its way up) and the Armenian mainly because it was the only one in the production category, and I was interested in that. They're both pretty long-term loans but hey, apparently people sometimes pay back sooner tongue.gif. In the future I'll probably choose loans from 3rd world countries (not sure if the Phillipines are considered a 3rd world country but I think it's pretty close).

Yep, agriculture is my main theme. I think I also go for people who sound like they've got a good plan for expanding their business. I enjoy trying to send my money to new places, though I often return to countries where I know there has been a lot of war because I like the idea of helping people find stability.
