Thanks to SPS there are now 3 more pics of Dayan on the website. They're the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th links to pics on the picture page, if you want to check them out. Thanks SPS. I think this one is my fav:

This is probably a daft thing to post about, but I was sat in the car with Mat the other day on the way home from somewhere and 'Hear You Me' by Jimmy Eat World came on and it just made me think of Dayan. I wish I knew him more and I wish I had the oppertunity to meet him more than once. I'd get him back for that damn eyeball trick for a start! I guess he's just in my thoughts as I'm sure he's in everyone else's.

You're not wrong WeeJ! Everytime I hear the new Darkness single I think of him. In fact any Darkness song reminds me of him and the Birmingham Meet.

Ahhhh memories.....

Thanks to Oni for the idea and e-mail, along with Pab and SPS for the work put into it, we now have the song "Debaser" by the Pixies playing on the main index page of the memorial website. Go check it out and rock on everyone.

As I have only just come back to these forums, this was a bit of a shock to say the least. The work on the website is fantastic, and a wonderfu testament to the cheeky little chappie. At first I thought it was a joke, because he'd left the forums or something, but the sadness quickly set in as I realised what this was all about. I can't say I knew Dayan that well, but I can say I'll miss him, and all the filth he used to spout on chat!

There was a note left on the guestbook for the memorial site and I was wondering if anyone knew or wanted to respond to this gentleman. The link to the guestbook is here : Dayan Memorial Site Guestbook , which has the post and the email of the guy.

His post reads :

QUOTE
Is one of your oldest friends, I feel betrayed by the fact that you would kill yourself a week after we lost met. Most people here do not now whom i am or from where i am coming from. But most people here have no idea about Dayan or who he was. While I went to school with him, he was taking anti-deprants. Until the last year of school. If anyone who does read this has any idea of what he lst thought of his school friends please email me.

I was looking through the site only a couple of days ago for the first time in a while. Happy memories of the silly bugger.

I was wondering when someone would bring this up today. WeeJ sent me a message early this morning and told me to send everyone her love in the inevitable discussion since she's up to her eyeballs in work.

Two years...wow. I was looking through the memorial site awhile back as well, and giggling at memories I'd almost forgotten.

Pffttt never, because I'm not.

Queenie made a nice post on the guestbook on the site, and yeah it's nice to go through the site and just remember how fun Dayan was.

One of the coolest guys on the planet and he's left an enormous hole in many people's lives.

Some of you may or may not know that today/yesterday is the anniversary.
I just figured something should be said on here, so that people would remember.

It's always 10th December that sticks in my head...and tequila at the Worlds End, and Big Tasty's from McDonalds, and getting of the tube 3 stops early for a whizz...and whizzing (again) in Sean's mum's fish pond.

...and Sean with Barry's snuff... I laughed so hard I cried...

We tried our best at a suitable send off *salutes*

Edit: Awesome pictures on the site, such fun.

He was a silly bugger, but I miss him.

I read through the site again a few months ago. Has it really been three years? It usually feels like more, and sometimes it feels like a lot less.

I was talking about him the other day, how I felt sad and angry all at the same time and how I wished he was still around. I'm sorry I missed the anniversary. I do remember thinking 'why does today ring a bell' on the 22nd and now I remember. You're always there Dayan.

x

I'll be drinking a toast to the fella tonight. He's been on my mind a fair bit over the past month for some reason. Best wishes to everyone else thinking of him today. Don't forget - today is a reminder of Dayan, but it also tells us to appreciate who we've got now. Remember your friends and family, tell them you care about them. As the sage Ferris Bueller said: 'Things move pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss them.'

yesterday i made a point to go through a good chunk of his total posts (great feature, isn't it? stalking made easy) and was happily surprised to find that instead of being absolutely miserable, i was cracking up half the time. no wonder i love Debs so much, he's hilarious.

but yes. toasts, as always, are in order..
if anyone else is having any trouble or feeling down, i use most messengers (except yahoo), so if you need anything, PM me.

I am such a sap, I still have the last 2 PMs that I sent him. I don't have any that he sent me, cause I cleared out my inbox a day or so before I heard the news. I can't believe it's been four years...wow.

He'd be twenty now, although I'd be just as drunk. The first toast was to him this night, the rest were to him too, but they were said inside. I suspect that there is a line after which I should probably try to stop mourning. Five years might be that point. We'll see.

The fact that I can type is a testimony to will over the body. I am deceptively pissed.
