Right I should be going to Amsterdam at the end of April this year if I can organise my friends! dry.gif What I need to know is can anyone recommend somewhere nice, central and cheap to stay? We rented a little house just outside the centre last year and it was cool but we'd ideally like to be a bit nearer this time.

Not sure if anyone can recommend good hotels? I'd rather not stay in a hostel as I want some privacy as I'm going with Ed.

I've got a good guide to Amsterdam, Sam - sadly I'm at my dad's at the moment, and it's at my mum's where I normally stay. I'll be back there on Saturday, and I can take a look for you.

Too right! *slaps Polo* dry.gif

Only joking matey!

I've found a couple of places that might be worth looking at but I am sick of tired of having to rally my friends round and get them to decide whether they are coming or not. It's just a matter of asking their work whether they can get time off but because they are useless they keep forgetting! rolleyes.gif

I'm sure it'll get sorted but in the meantime I'm the one who keeps having to ask and I sound like I'm nagging them after a while.

Ah well I'll get Ed to do it tongue.gif

Sean I have a Rough Guide to the place that Ed bought me last year so I'll check that when I get home but if you wanna through any suggestions into the melting pot then feel free smile.gif

You are more then welcome to come with us. If you can get to Liverpool airport you can travel with us otherwise you can meet us there and we can sort out accommodation for you. Be cool to see you although no doubt I'll catch ya' in May in Leeds smile.gif

Well in my book, you don't ask, you don't get biggrin.gif The offer stands if you're interested but I think we are going to try and book it all this weekend so you'll have to let me know before then if you change your mind smile.gif

I know the feeling about having no money. It's a good job my boss has cancelled the work trip to NY (I think!) as I wouldn't be able to go and have a good time sad.gif

Amsterdam is the next best option smile.gif

The flying pig in Amsterdam is good, if you book way in advance you can get a cheap twin room for about 10 days. It's a hostel but the atmospere is great there. DO NOT get a communal room there!. (horrible things happen to women in there rooms as there mixed guy/girl)

Thanks SPS that's brilliant! biggrin.gif

Space I'm not sure I'd want to stay in a hostel even if it was 'safe'. The thought of sharing a room with several other completely wasted strangers does NOT feel me with any sense of happiness! dry.gif

I was thinking more about an apartment or hotel/hostel with double rooms.

Thanks anyways smile.gif

Bah! dry.gif Turns out now only 3 people can make it, me, Ed and his best friend Dan. Now no offense to his best friend but I really don't want to go for a long weekend with them both. Basically either Dan is going to feel like a gooseberry or, more accurately, I will as they'll go off into Ladsville and leave me to it! dry.gif SOOOOOO not having that mad.gif

We could go later in the year but we really wanted to go for Queen's Day (30th April) as we went last year and it was top but if there isn't a big enough group it won't really have the same atmosphere.

I could go with just Ed but then that's Dan all out in the cold. Ed says he is happy to go with the 3 of us but he would say that as in no way would he feel left out like me or Dan would.

I've kinda run out of people to ask and also patience to organise something no one is really bothered about. I guess that answers my question, don't go, but Ed would be really disappointed and I'd love to go again.

What to do?! What to do!? unsure.gif

I've gone ahead and booked a lil holiday for just me and Ed. We are flying from Liverpool and we are staying at the Bulldog Hotel. Yep, that's right, the infamous Bulldog right in the middle of the Red Light District! wink.gif

Yay for all things kinky and smoke filled biggrin.gif

This will be my third time biggrin.gif I love the place and would move there if I could. It's so chilled out and there is just no pressure to do anything other than relax and enjoy yourself.

I went last year for Queen's Day and it's brilliant. There's loud music, partying all night. It was dead weird having a Burger King at 2am with hundreds of other people still milling around like it was the afternoon biggrin.gif

I heartily recommend Amsterdam to anyone and not just for da 'erb. The culture, the people, the shops, the everthing wink.gif
