Right I should be going to Amsterdam at the end of April this year if I can organise my friends!
 What I need to know is can anyone recommend somewhere nice, central and cheap to stay? We rented a little house just outside the centre last year and it was cool but we'd ideally like to be a bit nearer this time.Not sure if anyone can recommend good hotels? I'd rather not stay in a hostel as I want some privacy as I'm going with Ed. -------------------- Hope confidentally, do valiantly, wait patiently!

I've got a good guide to Amsterdam, Sam - sadly I'm at my dad's at the moment, and it's at my mum's where I normally stay. I'll be back there on Saturday, and I can take a look for you.

The offer stands if you're interested but I think we are going to try and book it all this weekend so you'll have to let me know before then if you change your mind I know the feeling about having no money. It's a good job my boss has cancelled the work trip to NY (I think!) as I wouldn't be able to go and have a good time  Amsterdam is the next best option

The flying pig in Amsterdam is good, if you book way in advance you can get a cheap twin room for about 10 days. It's a hostel but the atmospere is great there. DO NOT get a communal room there!. (horrible things happen to women in there rooms as there mixed guy/girl)

Bah!
Turns out now only 3 people can make it, me, Ed and his best friend Dan. Now no offense to his best friend but I really don't want to go for a long weekend with them both. Basically either Dan is going to feel like a gooseberry or, more accurately, I will as they'll go off into Ladsville and leave me to it! SOOOOOO not having that  We could go later in the year but we really wanted to go for Queen's Day (30th April) as we went last year and it was top but if there isn't a big enough group it won't really have the same atmosphere. I could go with just Ed but then that's Dan all out in the cold. Ed says he is happy to go with the 3 of us but he would say that as in no way would he feel left out like me or Dan would. I've kinda run out of people to ask and also patience to organise something no one is really bothered about. I guess that answers my question, don't go, but Ed would be really disappointed and I'd love to go again. What to do?! What to do!?

I've only been the once and really want to go again. I love it we found a really fab gay night club and had drinks bought for us all night.
