QUOTE (Righteous @ May 7 2004, 04:32 AM)
Scientists hypothesize that there may be a tenth planet ("Planet X") that rotates near the path of Pluto, thus shifting the orbit of Pluto.

If the sun were to collapse into a black hole right now, it would be only a few miles thick, but could swollow the Earth.

Apparently, they've actually found one for real this time. I think they've even named it. Either that or school has been lying to me again.

It's called (provisonally at least) Sedna.

Some can manage 6, but those are the big scary ones. Relatively speaking of course. Rail guns are by definition scary beasties. ph34r.gif

I want one. You get bored one evening, you don't know what to do, so you shoot a sattelite out of orbit.

Actually, I've been planning for some time to build a small one. I've just not managed to find a cheap enough source for the required capacitor bank yet.

A duck's quack does not echo.
It does, but the echo sounds very alike to the actual quack so it's hard to tell.

You are more likely to die from having a coconut fall on your head than to be bitten by a shark. Too bad Steven Spielberg hasn't made a movie about falling coconuts.

The largest shrimp ever caught was about the size of a small lobster.

Bill Shakespere has coined more terms, phrases and words than any other author in the history of the English language. The second is the Bible.

So make one.
There are lots of resources on the internet on how to. That way, it'll be just what you need.

An ostrich egg can serve one person, maybe two, and cooks in the same time as a normal egg.

One year ago today I got onto the computer after a long day of finishing up the last of my coursework for the year. I was then invited to Matazone and posted my intro thread.

Today I just got onto the computer after a long day of finishing up the last of my coursework for the year, and realized that I've been coming to the forums for exactly 1 year.

Things that have changed since I joined that newer people probably don't know about:

I was the 345th member. We obviously have considerably more now.

When I joined, there was no separate area for Daft, Issues, and such. There was only Intros, General Chat, About the animations, and Site fault reports, I believe.

At the time I joined, there was only one banned member, who has now come back, oddly enough. I don't even know how many people are banned now.

I didn't even know what IRC was when I joined, and now I own the channel that people from the forums go to laugh.gif

When I joined I can honestly say that I didn't get into any disagreements with people for at least a month....lol. Definitely can't say that now.

That's it. Any other changes I can think of, newer people will already know.

Panthers are spotted in much the same way as leopards. Their spots are just the same colour as the rest of them, so you don't notice.

Skinny, the drummer of Mushroomhead, used to babysit my friend Carol. I met him. He's a cool cat.

Kevin Smith recieved thousands of pieces of hate mail and two and a half death threats (one recanted) while making the movie Dogma.
