I work as a receptionist, and it really interests me to watch how some people think that they have to follow 'the rules' (specifically by signing in), even if I tell them not to worry about it.
I am personally of the opinion that it really depends on the person, and I'm betting that most of you will agree. For example, I have a friend who freaks out in rule-bending or breaking situations, whle others could care less. I think that the majority of people follow them for convenience's sake. Thoughts?

Well, we've finally done it. You're all invited, of course. We'll have dancing rainbows and ice cream cake, and just about everything else ever. No, the ice cream cake won't be the wedding cake. Oh, and muffins!
Musical Appearances By: The Black Eyed Peas The Beatles (all four! woot!) The Decemberists Kyo Pachelbel (As part of his reanimation concert series) Bach (Who is angry and german, and coming anyway) And I'm sure there are more, i just forgot. Grab a drink and a piece of cake, the wedding is the reception!

So Mata--
I'm really confused about the whole 'Don't Give Cats Guns' thing. It was kind of hard to follow, and I have a suspicion that except for the last few cartoons it didn't have anything to do with anything... help?

Are any of you willing to start a chinese tutorial? Please? PLEASE? I really want to learn, but the online tutorials I've found don't explain things well enough. Please?

So think about it:
Remus Lupin, the roman legend (see Harry Potter thread) and the word for wolf Albus Dumbledore, Albus is latin for white Minerva McGonagall, with alliteration (consonance) Severus Snape, more thinly veiled Latin and almost snake Sirius Black, Sirius after the 'dog' star, and he's black in dog form Quirrel, which sounds like squirrel (okay, so I made that one up... ...Any others that I'm missing? Also, all the spells are often direct Latin. You would think someone would realise that and make oddly specific spells, like... personus mortus. Ever so much easier to remember than 'avada kedavra', which is so clearly abra cadabra it's almost ludicrous. |
