Game of the year so far. By a studded-leather country mile, make no mistake. It's flipping brilliant. The controller is a bit platickly to the touch, but works beautifully, and is actually quite well designed from an ergonomics point of view. The presentation of the game is impeccable, from the tutorial finishing with the guy that explains how to play tailing off into some long winded story about how he had to stand in for Metallica down to the character models, loading screens and menu art.
Absolute genius. If this doesn't sell out everywhere, it'll be a sin against gaming.
I realise that technically I ought to have posted this in the Watchooplaying thread, but it's such a fantabulous game that it deserves it's own thread.

This guy deserves our support, if only because he ridicules the intelligent design movement by turning their own arguments against them.

If you are going to buy it from Amazon, don't use my link, use the ones off the bottom of the foum.

I am the Weakest Link.
Filming on 13th March. I'll let you all know when it's aired so you can tune in and watch me be insulted by Anne Robinson, then possibly win a non-life-changing amount of money.

Link to the offical site here.
It's a new book that's out this month by a chap called Stephen Poole, who's a painfully clever bloke who wrote an excellant analysis of videogames called 'Trigger Happy', which I also thoroughly recommend.
QUOTE (from the site)
How to decipher the news: UNSPEAKô is a book on state-of-the-art rhetorical weaponry. It ranges from anti-social behaviour through intelligent design, ethnic cleansing, weapons of mass destruction, and enemy combatants in the war on terror, to democracy, freedom and extremism.
There's some extracts on the site - it looks like pretty heavy going (see the above comment about being painfullly clever), but some really really good stuff. I'll certainly be checking it out.
P.S. Remember to use the links off the bottom of this site if you pick it up from Amazon.

And, by that, I don't mean people who like the horizontal tango with multi-coloured blocks. Or people who prefer a very angular version of the Kama Sutra. With lots of friends.
No, not them, the regular, normal sort of person who prays for a long yellow one to give them some of that 4-line lovin'
No, hold on, I'm still stuck on the first interpretation. Anyway, enough rubbish - it's clearly past my bedtime. I just wanted to leave you with the amazing, exciting and wonderful news that Tetris is being released for the DS. With 10 player wifi play off one copy of the game. And online play.
