Tigersong and I are getting married in Saskatoon, SK, on July 2, 2005.
I don't IRC, so this came up in an MSN converstion with Irish and Jaq, who might not be able to attend the wedding. So, after considering how practical making a web broadcast of the wedding was (don't think there is a wireless network in the church...), Irish suggested making DVD's to send to people! He even said he would pay for it. *DISCLAIMER: Please understand I am not seriously offering to sell DVD's of our weddding, although we might be having a DVD made. That's why this is posted in Daft! Just thought I'd see the reactions!

I have always wondered this, and Gerbil's post in the Kerry/Rosary-Ambush thread where he mentions a black Jewish lesbian president made me think. Since I think that, right now, we would sooner have a black Jewish STRAIGHT woman as president (say, 200 years) as opposed to a lesbian one (say, 700 years), then this is a relevant question! I imagine we would call her "Mrs. President", but what about him, if there was a husband?
The problem with the obvious choice, First Man, is that in Christianity Adam is considered the first man! ;-) Besides, "man" is not the opposite of "Lady." But the First Lord sounds awfully British, doesn't it? I doubt the Yankees would be ok with that. I like "The P.C." WHAT SAY YOU?

Mooooon Preeesaaam Pow-ah Make-up!
So, do you wear any? I put "full face" to mean stuff like doing eyes, cheeks, and lips, where as "small amount" might only be 1 or 2 things, like foundation and mascara, whatever. Have any favorite brands? I wear dabs of concealer/foundation every day for blemishes and dark eye circles, but will do a full face for going out as I am kind of girly. I like Cover Girl and Maybelline, but when I'm feeling flush I treat myself to Clinique (costly, sold at The Bay).

So, is anyone here following Canadian politics? Canada is having a federal election at the end of June. What kind of government do you think Canada SHOULD have? Answer that in the poll. Use your posts, not the poll, to predict what you think WILL happen after election day.
Since Tigersong has recently become a card-carrying member of a political party (although they promised to send him a card and haven't yet-- damn political promises) I thought I should put aside my pessimism and learn about politics! So, let's see what you, the MATAZONE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY, would like to see happen in Canadian politics.

Sorry if we have already had this as a topic....... Just wondering if anyone on Matazone is a practicing member of the SCA, the Society for Creative Anachronism, which is a fun and educational world-wide organization dedicated to researching and re-creating medieval life. Local chapters in towns and cities often meet a few times a month to dress in period costumes (600 AD - 1600 AD), learn period arts and crafts, make armor, and practice swordsmanship and archery and whatnot.
Fantasizing about joining it has been taking up all of my time lately...it's constantly on my brain, and driving Tigersong absolutely batty. He, Jaq, Jicama, and I are going to go to the Saskatoon chapter's "Tavern Night" on Wednesday to check it out. Anyone here a member? If so, tell me about your barony and kingdom, what your group is like, what was your best event, and what you like best about it all. For more info, SCA webpage |
