Okay, that’s a pretty decent comment about the current state of American politics. Guess when it was written? (No Googling! That would spoil it!)
Gah! I recognize the passage/theme of it from my AP US history class, I just can’t recall the beginning of it. This was… quite after the whole Manifest Destiny era, but definately before our current time. Gaaaaaah. I hate knowing things and not remembering them.
