Podcasting?

I’m not sure if anyone would be interested in a podcast that I might make, or even what I’d put on it, but in case anyone is interested, here’s a tutorial of how to make a podcast using the lovely WordPress (the blogging software I use, and that I highly recommend):

Can it really be that easy? Apparently so. I may try this in a few weeks when I’ve got a bit of time on my hands…

For those who don’t know, podcasts are home-made radio shows that people can automatically download through the RSS feed (of which there is one available for this blog). You then listen to the show at your own leisure, such as on mp3 players such as iPods, hence the name. It sounds all rather complicated to set up, and there are loads of debates about the best way to organise them, but apparently it’s not. I guess I’ll find out if I ever give it a go!

  1. Well, that’s an option too. Would people have to pay for that? And how does that work with copyrighted material?

I think I’ll be needing to check out a few things before I try this.

  2. From what I was readin up a couple of weeks ago, individuals don’t have to pay to have thier podcasts published through iTunes.

With regards to copyrighted material, I would assume that as long as you’ve got permission from the owner, it’s not a problem, or that snippets to give example of what you are on about… But I don’t really know. So I shall stop typing now.

I wanna try a podcast, but my mic is teh poop at the moment. -But I would definatly be interested to listen to one of your’s, Mata. I could like, totally subscribe to your podcasts!

  3. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, though not with iTunes, since I’m a) using WordPress and b) know nothing about iTunes. Need to wait until I have something approaching sensible computer/internet connection.

Either ways, a Mata podcast would definately be on my list of ‘must listens’.

  4. There is also this other thingy you can do, I’m not sure if it’s specific to iTunes, and I can remeber which Podcast was telling me about it. Basically you can mark the mp3, so to speak, so that either URL click links or pictures come up at the marked point on the mp3 for the podcast.
